Manufacturer Description:
Lemmon and bronze coloured Virginia leaves are mixied with pressed red Virginia tobaccos to a fine sweetness. Slightly flavoured.
Characterisation:
Apart from some yellow tobaccos streaks this mixture is more dark brown. By opening the tin a discreet sweet aroma spreads immediately, which source is difficult to identify, because no definite flavour is remarkable. Fruity-chocolaty may be, but anyway unobtrusive. The cut is rather fine: Mostly short and small streaks. The fresh tobacco is slightly dampish.
Plugging:
Due to the fine cut the Royal Yacht could be plugged easily. One should only keep an eye that it’ll be not plugged too compressed.
Light up:
Light up is unproblematic too. The tobacco nearly doesn’t tend to straighten up and with one or two flames the optimal glow could be achieved.
Smoking properties:
Already with the first draws it’s remarkable, that the Royal Yacht is a strong tobacco. The taste is namely mild with a profound sweetness, rather like dark Belgium chocolate, but the amount of nicotine is definitely noticeable. The burning behavior is well: The Royal Yacht glows down constant and with less condensate. Though the tobacco should be smoked with some attention to be able to enjoy the fine nuances. Therefore it’s necessary to keep an eye to the temperature. As most Virginias it’ll get a little bit acidly and the taste will be totally lost. Smoked slowly and cool the difficult definably aroma remains up to the end. A fine balance of bright grey ash remains.
Redolency:
The redolence is rather inconspicuous. Some sweetly-herb „pipe smell“, which is unobtrusive. The flavour is dosed very well, so that the Royal Yacht is pleasing for both the smoker and his surrounding.
Conclusion:
UndeThe Royal Yacht is a strong Virginia tobacco, which is rounded in taste and redolence by a sweetly-herb aroma. The burning behavior is very good without any tend to bite on the tongue or to develop much condensate. But therefore and for the best enjoyment of the nuances of the fine aroma it’s necessary to have some attention to the temperature to smoke the tobacco not too hot. The redolence is discreet and pleasing. Due to the very good cut the handling is unproblematic. The Royal Yacht is recommended for the advanced smoker as well as to beginners who want to try tobaccos which are not too much flavoured, whereby the strength shouldn’t be sneezed at.
