Manufacturer Description:
A traditional English blend with a distinctive roasted aroma. Various Virginia's were combined with dark-fired and sun-ripened tobaccos.
Characterisation:
The Heritage Barking Road is a medium and light brown loose cut with darker proportions in the round tin. The cut is even and narrow, and the rising slightly alcoholic-sweet scent is reminiscent of dried fruit and dark chocolate, although no flavor additives are used. Since the tobacco looks a bit moist at least when the tin is opened for the first time, it should be allowed to dry slightly before being plugged.
Plugging:
The Heritage Barking Road requires a little bit of attention, when plugging, so that the burning is quiet and the puffing is right. Although you proceed, as usual in Loose Cuts, by gently increasing the pressure, it takes some experience to determine what is too much pressure and too little. With a little practice, however, you will achieve an uncomplicated burning.
Light up:
Lighting up the Heritage Barking Road, on the other hand, hardly causes any problems. After the first flame, gently run over the surface with the tamper to create an uniform glow with the second flame, which then lasts until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The Heritage Barking Road is smoky and tobacco-spicy. It tastes immediately that the used Virginias are of the spicy varieties or dark fired, as the manufacturer indicates. Nevertheless, tart-sweet notes are also displayed, which, together with the spicy aromas, result in a diverse yet closed overall picture, which invites you to enjoy a pleasurable puffing exploration. Once the tobacco has been carefully plugged, the Heritage Barking Road burns down slowly and deliberately, without the problems that pure Virginia likes to do. Since only medium gray ash and no condensate are left behind, the cleaning is very easy.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Heritage My Barking Road is clearly tobacco and needs a tolerant or smoking society, if you do not want to attract attention.
Conclusion:
Unusually for a Loose Cut, the Heritage My Barking Road needs some attention when plugging. If you are not scared of that, then you expect a - for a pure Virginia - just as unusually uncomplicated burning, which is all about the spicy Virginia, from which it was composed. In addition to smoky and tobacco-spicy aromas, there is also a tart sweetness, which recalls the dark chocolate already sniffed out in the cold scent and thus gives the mixture the finishing touch. Rich in aromas, the Heritage Barking Road is great for the late hours of the evening and you might want to recommend it to a good book by the log fire, but even without such amenities, the Heritage Barking Road will especially delight lovers of intense, but non-burdensome Virginia.
