Manufacturer Description:
Holger Danske Double Fermented describes a tobacco that has already been fermented in the country of origin and undergoes a second, special process in the tobacco factory, which corresponds to a fermentation and frees the tobacco from bitter proteins and leads to a very special harmony of different grades of tobacco.
Characterisation:
Since the Double Fermented is packed in a pouch, it is very easy to take it with you. For longer storage, it is recommended to refill the tobacco in an airtight sealable vessel. The Double Fermented consists mainly of dark brown, slightly broader and short cut fibers, under which mix golden yellow, sometimes coarser leaf flakes. The scent is remarkably sweet and reminiscent of wild berries, although the manufacturer expressly mentions no aroma, but it may be a casing. The tobacco is different than usual for pouches, quite loosely packed in the packaging and is also perfect for its moisture content to be instantly plugged.
Plugging:
The Double Fermented can be plugged like other loose mixtures despite the slightly larger leaf flakes. After a loosely beginning you end with gentle pressure and thus achieves a uniform burn.
Light up:
If you gently use the tamper after the first flame to smoothen the surface, you will get an uniform glow with the second flame and the Double Fermented will burn until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The Double Fermented flatters tongue and palate with an unusual mildness. Only a delicate spice is to taste, which combines wonderfully with the soft roasted and slightly nutty hints that point to a gentle Virginia and suggest a Burley. The wild berry flavor perceived in the cold fragrance is not to taste in the smoke, even natural tobacco sweetness is only very discreetly represented, so that the mildness of the tobacco taste is very central. The remaining medium gray ash and the almost non-existent condensate make cleaning very easy.
Redolency:
The room note of the Double Fermented is for tobacco, but mild, so that it should not necessarily attract attention in tolerant society.
Conclusion:
Despite the slightly inconsistent cutting of the Double Fermented it is just easy in preparation. The moderate strength and especially the pronounced mildness is suitable for beginners. The Double Fermented can be smoked anytime and shows soft toasted notes, mild spiciness and a hint of nut that may well please even lovers of flavored Mixtures. The promise of the manufacturer is certainly fulfilled – the flavors are very harmonious and bitterness of whatever kind no one needs to fear.
