Arturo Fuente
the legendary Dominican Puro
The Fuente Fuente OpusX cigars are among the world’s most sought-after rarities, reaching Europe only once a year in very limited supply. The entire line is produced exclusively from 100% Dominican tobaccos grown on the Fuente family’s own estate, the renowned »Chateau de la Fuente«. OpusX was the very first Dominican Puro and remains the only brand entirely rolled from Dominican tobaccos. It quickly gained worldwide fame and has been named Cigar of the Year multiple times. »Its release was nothing short of a nuclear explosion on the market. We essentially created the trend for full-bodied, spicy, complex cigars,« recalls Carlos Fuente Jr.
Each cigar excels with superior construction, perfect draw, immaculate burn, and long, elegant ash. Known for their powerful, oily texture and rich aromatic complexity, these cigars are created for true connoisseurs.
The story behind the name
As father and son worked closely together, they decided their surname should appear twice on their groundbreaking creation – Fuente Fuente. The word »Opus,« Latin for »work of art,« was chosen to symbolize the cigar’s unmatched quality. The final »X« came from »Project X,« the codename under which they first began cultivating tobacco in the Dominican Republic.
Fuente Fuente OpusX Oscuro Oro
The golden sunlight that graces the breathtaking Chateau de la Fuente and lends it a divine atmosphere inspired the name of these ultra-rare cigars.
Packaged in striking yellow boxes, the »Fuente Fuente OpusX Oscuro Oro« features wrappers grown exclusively on the Fuente family estate. These carefully selected leaves undergo an extended fermentation and aging process, producing their dark, lustrous appearance and delivering a bold yet balanced complexity.
The »Oscuro Oro« is not a cigar for beginners and certainly not a morning smoke. Full-bodied, powerful, and richly complex, it makes the standard OpusX seem plentiful by comparison—boxes that reach Germany barely number in the double digits.
Expect bold notes of cinnamon, nut, cedar, and gentle earthiness, accented with a delicate peppery finish. A true treasure for connoisseurs, to be seized immediately when encountered.
