Chapter One The beginning of a new era. The La Flor Dominicana Chapter One marks not only the start of a new line but also a new chapter in the history of the Gomez family. It is the first cigar created independently by Antonio "Tony" Gomez, son of Litto and Ines Gomez – a symbol of generational change and the unwavering drive to evolve the craft. It was born in 2013, when Antonio moved to the Dominican Republic after four years in sales in the US to learn directly at the heart of production. There, among bales of tobacco and curing barns, he began to experiment – and out of pure curiosity, he pressed the legendary Double Ligero Chisel into a new, boxy shape. That was the moment Chapter One was born.
The result: a box-pressed Chisel with an impressive 58 ring gauge and a dark, oily Brazilian wrapper that unfolds intense aromas of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and earthy sweetness. Beneath lies a Connecticut binder – originally too uneven for a wrapper, but perfectly suited to add extra strength and depth to the cigar. At the core works the finest Dominican tobacco, ensuring balance and complexity. In the smoke, Chapter One unfolds with a harmonious blend of strength, spice, and creamy richness, accompanied by notes of coffee, cocoa, leather, and a hint of pepper. It is powerful, but not raw – structured, but never rigid.
