White Horses - I love the rough charm of the Breton coast. The monotonous ride of the "White Horses" - that's what they call the white foam crowns of the waves - stimulates my thoughts as well as the enjoyment of a nice pipe with a powerful tobacco. The White Horses is a medium-strength blend with a higher proportion of various sweet Virginia, Kentucky, some Havana leaves and Perique. Kentucky is not suspected to shine by complexity, but optimally integrated, it gives the White Horses just the touch of spice and bite you want, without the blend drifts into monotone. The White Horses is as adorable and rough as the Breton coastal landscape.
The White Horses is packaged in a tin with pressure lid and can so be stored longer well even if it has been opened. The Ready Rubbed in it is finely worn and of a predominantly dark brown color, into which lighter and darker parts are mixed in. The scent is sweetish-smoky, almost reminiscent of a Latakia mixture, in addition one means to sniff a chocolate-like aroma, although neither one nor the other is contained ... The tobacco does not look overly humid, but it can be loosened shortly before plugging let dry.
With a Ready Rubbed, like the White Horses, you should always be careful not to to fill the pipe too tight or too full as the pressed tobacco fibers expand somewhat under the heat. If you take this into account, the White Horses hardly produces any problems.
For Ready Rubbed tobaccos, it is quite common that you have to relight once. So also with the White Horses. If the surface is smoothed with the tamper after the first flame, the second flame produces an ember which burns strikingly evenly, calmly and without any problems.
The smoke of White Horse is abundant - one would almost think of the foam crowns of the manufacturer's description. In fact, one also finds other of the claimed properties in smoke again. The White Horses really is not monotonous or boring, although it is not overly strong, but it does show a hearty spiciness with a hint of sweetness, which actually evokes slight associations with smoked goods, such as ham... Strong roasted notes are added and well the used Havanna aromas of wood and leather, which offers a not necessarily subtle, but very varied smoking experience. In the burning the White Horses makes no problems and leaves in the end only fine medium gray ash and virtually no condensate in the pipe.
The redolence of the White Horse is tobacco-free and characterized by the powerful types of tobacco used, so you should prefer to enjoy the tobacco alone, in the fresh air or in a cozy smoker's round.
The predominantly dark brown Ready Rubbed is relatively easy to plug, ignite and smoke. The White Horses delivers powerful aromas without being overwhelmingly strong or even boring. The lush smoke is hearty and spicy with fine sweetness, in addition to intense toasted notes, leather and wood tones, resulting in a very varied flavouring for a strong tobacco. With its spice, the White Horses is excellent for smoking after a sumptuous meal or even to conclude the day with it in a peacful moment later in the evening.
