Manufacturer Description:
Darkwood Scenery - I do not think so, and I've gone totally different ways with the Darkwood Scenery. The good medium-strength tobacco base, consisting of Virginia, Oriental, some Black Cavendish and a really strong Burley, received a flavor of licorice, cloves, black pepper, sandalwood and subtle fruity notes. An aroma combination that reminds of blends of bygone days but is reinterpreted with the Darkwood Scenery. It convinces with spicy, but also sweet flavors from the first to the last puffing.
Characterisation:
The Mixture of long fibers and isolated Ready Rubbed portions is predominantly medium brown with few bright spots. The fragrance that rises from the round tin is intense and reminds with its sweet, almost peppery spiciness on honey- or gingerbread. The moisture content of the Darkwood Scenery is so good that you can plug the tobacco immediately after opening the tin.
Plugging:
Although the Darkwood Scenery is composed of different tobacco components, it can be plugged with some attention, like a loose Mixture. Which means that you start down in the pipe with a gentle pressure and gently tighten upwards.
Light up:
After the first flame, you should once pick up the tamper to gently smooth the surface as the Ready Rubbed components in the tobacco straighten up slightly under the flame. After the second flame, the tobacco burns down uncomplicated.
Smoking properties:
The Darkwood Scenery surprises with a strong and smoky flavor. The spice transported by the smoke is slightly peppery and looks very close to nature, suggesting a pinch of Kentucky if it had been used ... Instead, the Darkwood Scenery owes this spicy twist to the aroma of oriental spices. Rounding off a delicate sweetness is to taste in which hints liquorice root and sandalwood. The taste lasts until the last third of the filling, until the underlying tobaccos come to the fore. The cleaning of the remaining medium gray ash and the little condensate makes only little work.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Darkwood Scenery is surprisingly smoky for a flavored tobacco - so take care in non-smoking society.
Conclusion:
By mixing with Ready Rubbed you should pay attention to both the stuffing and lighting of the Darkwood Scenery, but the tobacco does not require a lot of experience. Beginners who expect a rich flavored tobacco, however, will be a little disappointed. The Darkwood Scenery is an example of a tobacco whose flavour supports the natural aromas, but not whitewashes them. The basic tobaccos Virginia and especially the Orient, already bring a significant spice, which harmonizes well with the pepper and cloves used, licorice root and sandalwood round off the overall picture pleasantly, so that a strong, but not burdening thoroughly pleasant smoking experience results.
