Manufacturer Description:
A very aromatic blend of handpicked Virginia, Burley and Black Cavendish tobaccos. Very fruity and sweet with the taste of black cherry. The "Wild Cut" type of cut emphasizes the character of the individual tobaccos.
Characterisation:
Due to the practical packaging in the pouch, the No 2 is good for on the way. Once opened, the tobacco should be transferred to an airtight container, if you want to store it longer. The No 2 is a mixture of predominantly light to medium brown tobaccos, in which also mix black-brown fibers. In between of the Loose Cuts, there are always larger leaf flakes in the mentioned colors. The scent is intense and clearly reminiscent of sweet cherries. Since the basic moisture of the tobacco seems very balanced, you do not need to let the No 2 dry before plugging.
Plugging:
The No 2 can be plugged as usual for loose Mixtures by starting loosely down and ending with gentle pressure. Due to the differently sized components, however, you should be careful not to fill the pipe too hard or too full.
Light up:
Even when lighting the different nature of the tobacco cuts is noticeable. Thus, the tobacco fibers straighten up somewhat under the heat of the first flame, so that the surface should be gently smoothed with the tamper before firing again evenly.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of the No 2 is creamy soft and strikingly mild, almost cool. Seasoning is only in the background in the case of this palatial delight, dominated by the aroma, which is less reminiscent of the fruits of the cherry, but of the warm scent of its flowers. If there was not to taste a distinct sweetness, so you could expect to smoke a flowery perfumed Irish blend. This mild soft sweetness lasts until almost the end of the filling and the No 2 makes even with inattentive smoking no problems. The remaining ash and the conspicuously few condensate also make little effort in the final cleaning.
Redolency:
The room note of No 2 is characterized by the sweetish aroma, so that the tobacco in tolerant company should not necessarily bother.
Conclusion:
Plugged with attention due to its different cuts, No 2 has so few problems that it can be recommended to beginners. The lighter-colored tobacco is so mild and soft-aromatic that it is suitable for just about any occasion, not only because of its moderate strength. The intense cherry flavor of the freshly opened pouch is less in the smoke itself, which is more reminiscent of the scent of warm cherry blossoms, which perfectly matches the subtle spiciness and creaminess with which the No 2 will convince many lovers of richly flavored mixtures.
