Manufacturer Description:
Black Cavendish, selected Burley and high-contrast Virginia leafs from three Continents. Carefully blended by hand to bring out the characteristic qualities of every tobacco. Sophisticated with exotic flavours of Vanilla, Coconut and Plum as wells as with a lacing of original Jamaica Rum. The taste of a modern, masterly mixture.
Characterisation:
A bright brown mixture with some medium and darker brown streaks, medium-wide and a little bit rough cut, and respectively wrenched. The smell is dominated by Vanilla, a little bit Coconut, less Plum and Jamaica Rum. The smell of tobacco is barely noticeable. The mixture feels well conditioned.
Plugging:
Simple like a mixture, not too compressed, is optimal for this tobacco.
Light up:
One flame to light up, slightly depressing with the tamper and a second flame will bring the Winsløw No. 1 to a constant, durable glow.
Smoking properties:
The mixture is clearly affected by Vanilla. Even with lighting up the typical flavour is dominating. Nuances of Coconut are noticeable too, Plum and Jamaica Rum are rounding off the creamy, sweetly taste. The tobacco glows good natured and doesn’t tend to swell very much, but it’s recommended to keep an eye of the temperature, because once smoked too hot, the taste of the flavours will go by. Winsløw No. 1 doesn’t tend to die down and the aromas are rather constant. In the second half of the smoke a light surly taste of Virginia is definitely noticeable. In contrast the Burley is covered by the flavour of Coconut. After burning down with a wee bit of condensate, a medium grey ash will remain.
Redolency:
The redolence is dominated by Vanilla and Coconut too. Plum and Jamaica Rum intensify the sweetly smell a little bit. A typical, socially acceptable aromatic mixture, which could be smoked at most opportunities.
Conclusion:
Winsløw No. 1 is a typical aromatic mixture with a lot of Virginia and dominating flavour of Vanilla. Taste and redolence are definitely affected by this combination, whereby Coconut and Jamaica Rum are more in the background. The mixture shows good smoking properties, a pleasing redolence and is good natured to handle. With a little bit attention to the temperature, this tobacco is dedicated for any society, where the redolence should be accepted. Recommended for enthusiasts of aromatic, light tobaccos and for generally beginners.
