Manufacturer Description:
The base for this tobacco are different kinds of Virginias. Cypriote Latakia, Black Cavendish and Orient are added too. This mixture possess a fine, but complex sweetness and only a little bit condiment, which is constant during the smoke. A tobacco for the whole day.
Characterisation:
A coloured mixture of light brown Virginia, medium brown Orient, dark Black Cavendish and black Latakia. Latakia will be definitely identified by the smell, aside attracts a spicy smell of Orient attention to itself. The cut is rather fine: Mostly small and short.
Plugging:
The tobacco could be plugged easily as a rather fine mixture. Not too compressed, to get a slight drag.
Light up:
Due to the fine cut the light up is uncomplicate. The tobacco swells a little bit after the first light up, but glows good natured after a slightly press down with the tamper. It may be necessary to use a second flame to arrange the glow properly.
Smoking properties:
With lighting up the tobacco, immediately a spicy and by Latakia affected taste is noticeable. Due to the weakening sweetness a pleasing mixture occurs, which is an enjoyment at every daytime. The tobacco wants to be smoked slow – if not, the Virginia will come to the front with a sourly, a little bit biting taste. Smoked cool the 7 Reserve keeps it’s taste over the whole duration of the smoke, whereby it glows with less condensate to the end. A mixture of medium and dark grey ash will remain.
Redolency:
The redolence is spicy-sweet and lightly smoky from Latakia. The mixture of the different aromas result in a definitely English, but at the same time pleasing sweet redolence. Not for any society, but welcome in a snuggery, where a spicy redolence is welcome.
Conclusion:
A colourful mixture of rather short and small cut tobaccos with a spicy-sweet, from Latakia affected taste. The mixture shows good smoking properties, if it’s smoked with some attention and not too hot. The redolence is reflecting the spicy-sweetly taste, what will let appear the 7 Reserve rather mild in comparison with other English mixtures. Overall this tobacco is light to medium in strength and recommended at any daytime. Suited to beginners in relation of English tobaccos, if the sensitivity to higher temperatures will be observed.
