Manufacturer Description:
The double-fermented Black Cavendish based on Virginia and Burley tobaccos delivers a uniquely smooth smoking experience with a distinct aroma of black pepper.
Characterisation:
The Black Pepper is very dark brown, almost black, and quite damp, almost a little sticky, so that the cover paper in the round tin is touched clammy. The aroma is unmistakable to sniff and smell, as expected: strong black pepper with a smoky undertone, which fits well with this. To counteract the effects of the obvious moisture, the tobacco should be loosened and allowed to dry for one hour before plugged.
Plugging:
The Black Pepper is like any loose mixture plugged starting loose to becoming tighter getting upwards.
Light up:
Due its moisture the Black Pepper requires some attention when lighting. It may take several flames, so that the surface glows evenly. And later in the course of smoking, it may be necessary to use the tamper so that the embers coming in better contact with the tobacco. Through careful pre-drying and a little practice, the although not excessive efford does reduce in addition.
Smoking properties:
To aromatize a tobacco with black pepper is an unusual idea and as unusual the Black Pepper tastes also. The smoke has a surprising substance, you may name it juicy, meaty and call vegetarians better not to smoke it ... Needless to say that this aroma ideally complements black pepper. Here, the full-bodied flavor in smoke prevails, while the pepper is tasted more on the tongue. If responded to this totally unusual flavors, so you can feel a subtle, delicate sweetness that rounds the taste experience to enjoyment. The flavor remains fairly constant until the end when light gray ash, some unburned particles and quite perceptible condensate remains.
Redolency:
The room touch of Black Pepper is quite peculiar, as the tobacco itself and could therefore be bothersome in society.
Conclusion:
The Black Pepper is a nearly black Loose Cut, which unfortunately comes a bit damp in the tin. However, after a drying before it has such an unusual flavor that even the somewhat tedious kindling and burning behavior is worthwhile. The full-bodied smoke carries a juicy roasted flavor with a subtle slight sweetness, while the pepper pleasantly tingles on the tongue. Maybe a flavor that is not necessarily suitable for any occasion, but who has been looking for a tobacco with a truly exceptional flavor, in Black Pepper he found a tobacco, who will not let him down!
