Medium cut matured Virginian and Oriental tobaccos soft and mellow flavour.
Characterisation:
The London Mixture is a medium to dark brown mixture of tobaccos with different cut widths and lengths, but nevertheless rather fine. When you open the tin you can already clearly smell the English character in the form of Latakia. In addition, you can also recognize the spicy Orient´al and mature Virginia. The moisture is optimal.
Plugging:
The tobacco could be plugged easily, whereby you should stuff a little looser than usual at the bottom of the tobacco chamber, since the tobacco gets much more compact while glowing down.
Light up:
The London Mixture could be easily light up with one or two flames. The tobacco slightly tends to straighten up, what could be well regulated with the tamper, but without re-lighting is necessary.
Smoking properties:
After light up the London Mixture unfolds immediately its English character. Spicy Oriental and Latakia determine the taste and the Virginia brings something fresh liveliness into the mix. Despite the rather fine cut, the London Mixture glows down good-natured and doesn’t tend to get too hot. The rather medium strong tobacco should be more often subsequently pressed down with the pusher, so it glows steadily until the end. It develops some condensate, making the smoking experience but not affected. The remaining ash is medium gray.
Redolency:
The redolence is typical smoky, marked by Orient and Latakia. The Virginia alleviates the smell somewhat, but the London Mixture is more suitable for societies of lovers of this type of tobacco.
Conclusion:
The London Mixture is a medium to dark brown mixture of spicy tobaccos with different cutting widths and lengths. Oriental and Latakia dominate this tobacco what is definitely noticeable in taste and redolence. The Virginia weakens the London Mixture with its tangy taste and mild fragrance a little out, but the mean strength and the English character are clearly in the foreground. The handling of the London Mixture is good-natured. Despite the rather fine cut the tobacco doesn’t tend to get too hot. It develops some condensate and after the smoking experience remains a medium gray ash. The London Mixture is suited as an "all-days smoke" for lovers of tobaccos with Latakia and it’s recommended to both experienced and beginners in the world of English tobaccos.
