Manufacturer Description:
Medium-strong mixes of tobaccos of the best Virginia and Oriental provenances with abundant Latakia, refined with Havana leaf material.
Characterisation:
The Banker's is not only packed in a round box; in addition, the tobacco is placed in a plastic bag, which helps prevent the drying out. The Loose Cut smells like smoldering autumn leaves and tart-sweet, the fibers are predominantly dark brown with blackish-brown and few bright parts. The tobacco is pressed so tight into the tin, that the Banker's looks moist. However, it can be easily loosened up and if left to dry for a short time, it certainly does not cause any problems.
Plugging:
The Banker's is an uncomplicated Loose Cut and is also stuffed like this: begin loosely at the bottom and become stronger upwards. It does not need any more to ensure a uniform burning.
Light up:
After a short predrying, the banker's can be ignited very easily. The flame of a single match usually suffices for a permanent embers.
Smoking properties:
The Banker's surprises. The smoke that fills the mouth is lush and creamy, but at the same time strong and spicy. The taste spectrum reveals the probably not too small portion of Havana, so to be tasted besides toasting aromas cigar-notes of wood, leather, earth and bitter chocolate. Only in the background is the fine incense flavor of Latakia. Especially the variety of flavors make smoking a varied and exciting experience. Only if necessary you can use the tamper, but the burning is otherwise quiet and completely uncomplicated, so that in the end only medium gray ash crumbs and almost no condensate in the pipe remains.
Redolency:
The room note of The Banker´s, thanks to the contained Latakia and also by the cigar-like Havana, are clearly marked by strong tobacco and will probably not elicit much enthusiasm from non-smokers. The Banker's is thus better suited for like-minded rounds, the strong character of the tobacco makes it also suitable for the fresh air.
Conclusion:
The Banker's is a loose cut in predominantly darker brown tones. Those who are able to cope with a more powerful tobacco will not have any trouble with The Banker's. Uncomplicatedly put into the pipe and ignited, the tobacco surprises with a wide range of taste, which is particularly interesting because of the Havana used. Due to the reserved Latakia the Banker's is not a typical English tobacco, but knows through woody and earthy flavors as well as with leather and bitter chocolate notes to convince experimenting enthusiasts of powerful flavors.
