Manufacturer Description:
A Mixture based on different Virginia varieties, to which small amounts of Latakia, Orient and a pinch of Black Cavendish have been added. This tobacco should be consumed slowly in order to fully develop.
Characterisation:
Orcilla Mixture is a fine and longer cut Mixture of light and medium brown tobaccos, mixed in a small proportion of darker fibers. Occasional larger pieces of leaf can also be found. The scent in the tin shows above all the Virginias used, for which hay and a dry fruit-like sweetness are typical. If you make an effort, you can observe a slightly smoky note that can be attributed to the Oriental tobacco used. The moisture content of the Orcilla Mixture is so good that the tobacco can be plugged immediately.
Plugging:
The fine cut makes it easy to plug the Orcilla Mixture. However, you can experiment a bit, whether you like the tobacco in a larger pipe better or if it is already too much. Plugged with only very light pressure, the tobacco burns down quickly, but also without problems. A little practice helps to find the right measure.
Light up:
Due to the cut, the fine fibers of the Orcilla Mixture take on the flame very quickly, so a single match can be enough to evenly ignite the tobacco. The possible pressing with the tamper should be done very gently so as not to compress the filling too much.
Smoking properties:
The basis of the Orcilla Mixture is clearly the Virginia with typical hints of hay and mild sweetness, but in the further course of the smoke the Oriental emerges just as softly but clearly and shows spice and fine acidity that reminds of grass. In addition, woody ones also seem to appear. Both tobaccos are finely balanced and the smoky Latakia hovers in the background. Care should be taken to deliberately smoke the tobacco despite the mild aroma. The Orcilla Mixture hardly tends to get snappy on the tongue, but this prevents the finely chopped tobacco from burning down too quickly. This is also good for the taste. Since the burning is otherwise completely uncomplicated, only a little fine light ash remains at the end of the filling, which hardly does any work during cleaning.
Redolency:
For a tobacco that contains Latakia and Oriental, the Orcilla Mixture smell in the room is relatively harmless. Nevertheless, you should choose your company well if you do not want to enjoy this tobacco alone or in the company of lovers of Oriental tobaccos.
Conclusion:
The fine cut of the Orcilla Mixture makes plugging and lighting rather easy, but you should pay a little attention to your smoking behavior so that the tobacco does not burn down too quickly. However, since it makes this uncomplicated and shows a very mild aroma for a tobacco containing Oriental, it is at least suitable for beginners in this area. With its typical aromas of hay and natural sweetness, the Virginia base offers a good framework for the very mild Oriental with its soft, delicately sour and spicy notes. The strength is medium and the nicotine content is not so filling that you cannot smoke the Orcilla Mixture all day.
