Manufacturer Description:
Readdy Rubbed
Since 1979
This Ready Rubbed was predominantly composed of mature Virginia tobaccos and is harmonically refined with exquisite Burley from Africa. A delicious tobacco which discloses a nutty undertone, and enjoys a clear gentle burn and typical Virginia character.
Characterisation:
The Ready Rubbed is, as the name suggests, a rubbed out flake. The original flake was quite finely chopped and ground very evenly. The tobacco is light to medium brown with a few golden brown fibers and smells typical for Virginia by dried fruit, which first of all raisins come to mind. The fixed pressure in the round tin could give the impression that this tobacco is sticky and humid, but in fact it is fresh out of the tin immediately ready to smoke.
Plugging:
The Ready Rubbed should not be plugged too tight, because the originally pressed tobacco tends to straighten under the flame heat. Some loose crumbs of tobacco as the top layer facilitate the kindling.
Light up:
The Ready Rubbed needs - unusual for a Ready Rubbed - just a single flame for an ember until the end of the filling. At most, one can smoothen the surface with the tamper gently to achieve a more even burn.
Smoking properties:
The Ready Rubbed provides a dense smoke roasted bread flavors transported as they are quite typical for high-quality Virginia. Added to this comes a natural sweetness, almost fruity and so reminiscent of the cold scent out of the tin with its echoes of dried fruit, especially raisins. One should be careful smoking it cool, but not to avoid a possible gargling, which can occur in Virginia tobaccos, but the flavors to fully enjoy. After a long-lasting smoking experience just a little fine, bright ash and condensate hardly remains.
Redolency:
The room touch of Ready Rubbed tobacco is genuine, but this sweet and could therefore not be distracting in a tolerant society.
Conclusion:
The Ready Rubbed is a light to medium brown flake, which was already rubbed ready to smoke by the manufacturer. In the box it smells of dried fruit and this fruity sweetness is transported in the smoke besides notes of roasted bread surprisingly natural. To achieve this without the use of flavorings reflects the high quality of the tobaccos used. This may attract lovers of special tobaccos, but beginners will get along well with the straightforward nature and the moderate strength of the Ready Rubbed. Only cool one should smoke it to come in the taste of the whole abundance of flavors, but this the Ready Rubbed all deserves!
