Manufacturer Description:
A classic sailor flake from the best American and Indian Virginia, whose flavors were completed by traditional compression and subsequent storage to mature it under less pressure to rich and gentle fullness seeking experts in a great flake. Slow burning, cool and soft on the tongue.
Characterisation:
From the can a sweet scent of apricots and prunes rises, which also reminds a little with his clove aroma of mulled wine. The wet stickiness, crumbled acting flakes are more broad than long, dark brown and crossed by golden brown veins uniformly. Due to the rather high humidity, it is advisable to let the fresh tobacco went on the air before plugging.
Plugging:
The Sailor's Flake No. 15 because of its humidity and crumbly consistency recommends for rubbing it out. However, this does not detract from the pleasure of smoking. Also by its softness the flake can be brought easily into the pipe.
Light up:
Rubbed out the Sailor's Flake No. 15 is easy to ignite despite of its humidity. The surface can be smoothed with the tamper a little, and then the second flame will create a uniform glow that will lasts up to the end.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of Sailor's Flake No. 15 is remarkably soft and pleasant to the tongue. Even more violent smoking what Virginia tobaccos don´t like normally it forgives. This allows to smoke cool and dry without difficulty. For concentrated smoking is meant to taste an apricot aroma, but the manufacturer does not indicate such and after the first third of the filling it subsides in the background. Then the spicy-smoky notes are dominate, which are slightly bitter at the end.
Redolency:
The room note of Sailor's Flake No. 15 is described by more tolerant society than smoky-sweet and not too distracting.
Conclusion:
The Sailor's Flake No. 15 is a dark brown flake, which is very moist and crumbled. Dried a little time it is prone to get as ready rubbed into the pipe and makes lighting up and smoking no difficulties. The perceived on the nose aromas of apricot and cloves are also found in smoke again, which is very soft and pleasant to the tongue. A good flake-tobacco for beginners or for smokers who are looking for an aromatic flake for every day.
