Manufacturer Description:
A luxurious blend of the finest tobacco leaves and Latakia allow a full smoking pleasure for the experienced pipe smoker.
Characterisation:
The Original 1865 exudes a sweet apricot fragrance, this is but clearly overlaid by burning autumn leaves, betrays the Latakia contained. The cut is fine, sometimes very long, so that the fibers curl. The mixture is predominantly dark brown, almost black, with less bright shares and almost conditioned perfect.
Plugging:
Due to the long fibers of the Original 1865, it may be advisable to slightly loosen the tobacco before loosely filling it into the pipe and gently press. This repeat until the pipe is filled.
Light up:
The Original 1865 requires only a single match, until its surface ignites evenly. Once again flatten gently with the tamper and a carefree smoking pleasure comes easy.
Smoking properties:
In the first puffing you will immediately notice how cool the smoke of the Original 1865 is. Even the burn is very quiet. The flavors are also unkomplicated. Ostensibly are to taste - as usual of good Virginias - toast and nuts. In addition, however, the smoky spiciness of Latakia first stays in the background, in the further course of smoking, however, getting stronger. Despite the quiet burning you should use the tamper from time to time to bring the fire closer to the tobacco. The remaining light gray, very fine ash hardly makes work during cleaning.
Redolency:
In the room the content of Latakia in the Original 1865, is clearly perceptible, so it is a tobacco especially for smokers rounds or fresh air.
Conclusion:
The Original 1865 is a fine and long cutted Loose Cut. Its dark color as well as its nose of autumn leaves reveal the content of Latakia. As easy as the preparations, also smoking the Original 1865 is. The smoke is cool and the burn is uncomplicated. Aside from the known aromas of Virginia tobaccos of toast and nuts always swings the pleasantly smoky and spicy Latakia. A combination that very round comes with the Original 1865, with an almost perfect harmony between Virginia and Latakia has been reached, so no variety dominates, but both support each taste on the contrary. This balanced flavors and simplicity make the Original 1865 interesting for both beginners as well as lovers of tobaccos with Latakia.
