Amphora Special Reserve Blends are a new and modern family of aromatic pipe tobaccos. Amphora Special Reserve No 2 is a harmonious blend with fine notes of exquisite cherries.
The blend was made from Virginia, Burley and Cavendish tobaccos from three continents and provided with exquisite cherries notes. Each of these tobaccos gives its own character to this mixture. Together they create a new dimension of pleasure.
Fine tobaccos with the scent and taste of ripe cherries are loved by pipe smokers all over the world.
Characterisation:
The Amphora Special Reserve No 2 is a curly, mainly light and medium brown Fine Cut interspersed with darker fibers. When opening the pouch, the tobacco exudes an intense scent of red fruit, which clearly reveals the cherry flavor used, but also a little reminiscent of Cassis. If the moisture content of the tobacco is good in the freshly opened pouch, it is advisable to refill the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 in an airtight container, if you want to store the tobacco for a longer time.
Plugging:
In the case of the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 you should be careful not to over-tighten, otherwise the tobacco will cause a bad puffing. With a little practice, however, the right balance in plugging can be achieved quite quickly.
Light up:
If you smooth the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 after the first flame once without too much pressure with the tamperer and then give fire once more evenly, you get a reliable, calm burning until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The more demanding preparations are rewarded by the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 with a lush and creamy smoke. For a, according to the smell, generously flavored tobacco, the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 is surprisingly spicy and provides distinct roasted aromas. In addition, there is always pleasantly present a fine berry-sweetness that makes you think of red juicy cherries. This aroma accompanies the spicy basic tobaccos until almost the end. The ash is remarkably fine and flaky so that it can easily be blown away by a wind or breath. However, it can be easily cleaned just like the little condensate that has formed.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 reminds many non-smokers quite pleasantly of "typical pipe scent", so that - given appropriate tolerance - the tobacco might well meet with pleasure.
Conclusion:
The Amphora Special Reserve No 2 is a curly, fine-cut Mixture, whose strong scent lends itself to a luscious aroma, but turns out to be very balanced after the careful stuffing. The cherry flavor is clearly and sweetly represented, but it leaves the basic tobacco used enough room to develop their natural flavor and roasted aromas. Thus, the Amphora Special Reserve No 2 is a typical Aromat, but also the experimental "natural smoker" not immediately scares and also convinces by a quiet burning.
