The Kratermischung No. 3 is a balanced Red Virginia Ready Rubbed Flake with some Orient, Kentucky and Perique. Medium-bodied.
Characterisation:
The Kratermischung No. 3 lies as a finely grated, but longer cut Ready Rubbed in the round tin. The color varies between medium and dark brown, with lighter inclusions in the small pieces. The scent of Kratermischung No. 3 rising into the nose is alcoholic and sweetish and reminds with its hints of dried fruit on a punch with mild spices. Since pressed tobaccos, which also include Ready Rubbed, keep the basic moisture better, the tobacco should be pre-dried before it is given into the pipe.
Plugging:
Since Kratermischung No. 3 is a Ready Rubbed, one should remember to give the tobacco enough space to unfold and not to plug the pipe either too full or too tight. Loose fibers at the top of the filling make lighting easier.
Light up:
The Kratermischung No. 3 spreads slightly below the first flame, which is quite normal for Ready Rubbed, smooth the surface gently with the tamper and give fire again. Now the Kratermischung No. 3 burns evenly until the end.
Smoking properties:
The Kratermischung No. 3 acts initially typical tobacco-spicy with - by the Kentucky embossed - clearly smoky aroma. But then you realize that a distinctly floral note is added. This pervasive perfusion, which you would normally like to find in Irish mixtures, finds a balance with the spicy tobaccos and takes the tips out of them so that an unusual, yet harmonious smoking experience is created. Especially by the relaxed burning, you can taste for this flavor pleasurably before you end up with a little medium gray ash, a few unburned crumbs and virtually no condensate, which has to be removed from the pipe.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Kratermischung No. 3 is for tart tobacco and intense by the included Oriental, so that the Mixture is merely not suitable for non-smoking societies.

The medium and dark brown, finely cut and fine-rubbed Ready Rubbed can be relatively easy be plugged and ignited. This, as well as the moderate strength, makes the Kratermischung No. 3 certainly suitable for beginners. Unusual is the composition of strong smoky, spicy tobaccos together with a flowery sweetness that one would rather expect in an Irish mixture. In fact, these two styles harmonize wonderfully with each other and invite you to sit back and enjoy relaxed the smoke of Kratermischung No. 3.
