Manufacturer Description:
An unique mixture of selected tobaccos: Virginia, Burley and Maryland, which are enriched with some Black Cavendish and an addition of a savoury caramel cream aroma. To make this beautiful tobacco even more attractive, an amount of hand-rubbed Virginia Flake was added. The result is a fantastic aroma.
Characterisation:
Opening the tin a bright to medium brown mixture of long-threaded tobaccos with different cuts and interspersed with rather rough flake pieces appears. The tobacco spreads an intensive aromatic smell of caramel with a fruity nuance. The humidity is optimal.
Plugging:
Due the different cuts and the flake pieces, it’s recommended to twist portions of this tobacco between the fingers to loose bowls and to put them fluffily into the pipe.
Light up:
The Sweet Killarney could be light up without problems with 1 to 2 flames. Thereby it tends a little bit to straighten up. After slightly dampened down with the tamper the tobacco glows without the need of relighting.
Smoking properties:
The tobacco could be smoked pleasing and dry without too much attention, whereas only the temperature should be watched. The taste is actually fruity but tobacco is noticeable too. Caramel is responsible for the sweetness, but not as obtrusive as by the smell of the tobacco expected. Glowing down is constant without less condensate. At the end the tobacco comes to the foreground, but the aroma is present up to the end. A balance of medium grey ash with a few darker parts remains.
Redolency:
The redolence is dominated by caramel, in fact so that the smell could even be noticed by the smoker himself. For the surrounding a typical highly aromatic mixture and therefore suited to the most societies. The sweetly smell is rather long present in the air, but not obtrusive.
Conclusion:
A typical highly aromatic mixture, which is interestingly not reflecting the top-flavour in the taste, but a fruity nuance and pure tobacco. Handling and glowing down is without problems and for an highly aromatic tobacco astonishing dry. The redolence is as expected dominated by the caramel aroma. Therefore this tobacco should be welcome in most societies. The Sweet Killarney is a light tobacco, which is suited for both, beginners and advanced smokers who like to nibble. The tobacco glows with a rather equal aroma constant to the end. A tobacco for any occasion.
