Manufacturer Description:
A dark shaded flake with a high proportion inky Black Cavendish, bright Virginia from Brazil and hazel-colored Burley. Highly aromatic, fruity flavor of ripe passion fruit, combined with wild mango.
Characterisation:
From the tin of Tropical Mango Flake immediately rises a sweet, fruity fragrance, which seems less exotic than reminiscent of apricot jam and cloves. The flakes showing a dark brown color with almost black veins and golden yellow speckles; they are clean cut and well conditioned so that they can be easily taken out of the tin one of another.
Plugging:
The Tropical Mango Flake can be plugged as wished: rubbed out like a mixture or bent and folded and then placed loosely in the pipe. As with all flakes it applies in both variations not to plug too hard as the compact tobacco rises slightly when lighting. Leftover crumbs of tobacco as the top layer take the flame rapidly.
Light up:
The Tropical Mango Flake requires two flames to ignite uniformly. After the first flame the filling should be gently flattened with the tamper and then payed attention to the entire surface to produce a glow, then the Tropical Mango Flake burns easily to the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The Tropical Mango Flake provides the expected fruity aroma, which is now clearly exotic in smoke, as in cold scent. The combination of mango and passion fruit may remember somebody of multivitamin juice, but is consistently pleasant. A big advantage of this aromatics is, that the tobacco used as a basis is spicy competing under the aroma in appearance and support this pleasantly. So the Tropical Mango Flake is no artificial “flavor-bomb”, but a pleasantly flavored tobacco for the sweet tooth under the pipe smokers. After this experience, only some medium gray ash and for aromatics very little condensate remains in the pipe.
Redolency:
The room touch of Tropical Mango Flake is sweet because of the used flavor and could thus also of nonsmokers certainly be perceived as pleasant and typical "pipe fragrance".
Conclusion:
The Tropical Mango Flake is a brown-dark brown marbled Flake with golden flecks that smells fruity-sweet. Its flavor but only in smoke actually is disclosed. Plugging and lighting up does not overwhelm even the novice and also the strength is so moderate that you can comfortably smoke it in passing. In fact, the smoke carries the exotic fruit flavor surprisingly natural, the underlying tobaccos are not drowned, but their spicy part may contribute to the whole experience. Thus, the Tropical Mango Flake aimed at all pipe smokers who value high-quality tobacco and are looking for something more than a purely sweet aromatics.
