Manufacturer Description:
Large golden Virginia outer leaves with a Virginia deposit and a single Louisiana Perique sheet that passes through the center of the XXX Twist, are combined and masterfully twisted. After pressing and then cutting a delicious Virginia flavor combine with the spicy aroma of Perique. A medium-strong tobacco with an attractive redolency reminiscent of sun dried figs.

Characterisation:
The Cabbie's Mixture is a strand of tobacco which has been cut into thin slices, called Curlies. Because of this very original way of preparation, the individual discs vary in composition, but mostly they show a medium brown with light speckles and dark inclusions. The sweet aroma of dried figs reveals the use of good Virginia while in the freshly opened tin also the characteristic "Ketchup scent" of Perique is to smell. The Curlies have been company-typically packed rather humid into the tin, what the storage benefits, but it makes advisable to let the tobacco dry half an hour before smoking.

Plugging:
Since it is a Curly Cut in Cabbie's Mixture, the tobacco requires attentive plugging. Experts may prefer to smoke the slices stacked in a large pipe, but it is - especially for beginners - easier to crush the discs or fold them to bring them into the pipe and then to smoke. A rubbing into a finer Mixture is of course possible and left to personal taste. Either way a loose top layer facilitates kindling.

Light up:
Despite the still relatively high residual moisture content of the Cabbie's Mixture two flames suffice until it glows evenly. After the first flame, gently take the tamper smoothing over the surface, then give fire again and sit back.

Smoking  properties:
The Cabbie's Mixture shows immediately its strength. Ostensibly the aromas are dominated by notes reminiscent by its sour, yet smoky character on toasted sourdough bread. But by aware - and it's worth it! - smoking and keeping the pipe cool, so much finer notes surprise that you want to call flowery and a very aromatic dark, bittersweet cocoa taste. Whether you want to enjoy the powerful or the gentler flavors, depends entirely on the smoking behavior, which constitutes a great attraction of this tobacco and makes the course of smoking very varied. Only from time to time you shoud use the tamper, but otherwise the Cabbie's Mixture does not making fuss. Not even during cleaning, because what remains is light gray ash, a few unburned crumbs and virtually no condensation.

Redolency:
The room note of the Cabbie's Mixture is not strong, but tobacco genuine and should therefore be smoked only in a tolerant society.

Conclusion:
The Cabbie's Mixture is a Curly Cut, consisting of medium brown, golden and dark speckled slices. In addition to the dry fig scent of Virginia, reveals the light ketchup smell the content of Perique. Apart from the unusual way of plugging caused by the special form and occasional tamping of the tobacco is a Virginia-Perique-blend to smoke very easily, which makes it interesting for beginners in this direction. Are the flavors of toasted rye bread still typical of Virginia-Perique-blends, the tobacco surprises in cold smoking. Then come floral aromas and a bittersweet chocolate note in the foreground. This feature makes the tobacco very varied and interesting to smoke, because the flavors are influenced by the smoking behavior. An experience for experienced smokers!
