Manufacturer Description:
This full bodied Plug is blended from Dark Fired tobaccos from Kentucky, Malawi and India. The mixture is pressed, heated and then stored for 14 days before being cut. English style taste.
Characterisation:
The tobacco lies as a Plug, pressed to a longish block, in the pouch. The colour is dark brown, nearly black. A slightly, oily shine pretend a high humidity. But in reality the block is hard and optimally conditioned. The smell is something obtrusive and difficult to describe: At best will fit fruity-perfumed.
Plugging:
Due the form the smoker is rather not limited in regard to the cut: Cut in slices and thrown into the bowl of the pipe, ready rubbed or crosscut – the Dark Fired Plug could be plugged individually and therefore of course very good. At any case some crumbs, which will accrue while cutting the tobacco, should be used for the last layer to make it easier to light up the tobacco. It should be plugged a little bit looser, because the tobacco, similarly to a Flake, tends to expand.
Light up:
The Dark Fired Plug could be lighted up easily. One flame for the first glow and after planishing with the tamper a constant glowing will be achieved with a second flame.
Smoking properties:
As well as the most compressed tobaccos, it’s necessary to attend to the temperature. Otherwise the handling is rather uncomplicated. The Dark Fired plug develops less condensate and glow down cool and slowly. In the taste could be retrieved some nuances of the perfumed aroma, but in the foreground is the strong taste of tobacco. This tobacco is medium to strong and therefore not recommended at any daytime. It’s optimally to enjoy it at the end of the day or after a good lunch. At the end of the filling it’ll get a little bit stronger, before the glow dies down slowly to a balance of medium to dark grey ash.
Redolency:
The redolence is dominated by the naturally smell of tobacco. A hint of discreet sweetness makes the smell acceptable, but that can’t belie the English character. Therefore the Dark Fired Plug is only conditionally sociable, but in snugly rounds it should be welcome.
Conclusion:
The Dark Fired Plug is an interesting tobacco, which allows to prepare and plug it in the smoker’s favourite cut. Therefore it could of course be plugged very good and thanks that, with a little bit attention, with a cool and dry burning down. Due to the Kentucky the tobacco is medium to strong and related with the English character not suited for en empty stomach. After dinner or at the end of the day in a snugly round the Dark Fired Plug could be enjoyed at it’s best. Due to the very discreet sweetness in the redolence, which is more dominated from the smell of strong tobacco, this tobacco isn’t acceptable for any society. Because some experiences in handling plugs is recommended, this tobacco is more suited for adapted smokers. Beginners should keep an eye to the strength and preferable try it ready rubbed.
