We have pleasure in placing before the ever-increasing number of our Patrons in all parts of the world a more complete Catalogue of Peterson's Patent Pipes than we have hitherto issued.

The importance of producing as perfect a pipe as possible is evident, when we realise how universally smoking has affected modern thought in Art, Science, Literature, Politics, and even the Pulpit; how it has influenced the best wit of our time, and brought relief and solace to over-taxed energies.

It is gratifying to feel that our efforts to maintain a Standard of "the best possible" have been so widely appreciated, and that Peterson's Patent should have become recognised as the hall-mark of pipes all the world over. Of the various points and merits of Peterson's Patent Pipes it is not necessary here to go into detail. They are fully explained and shown by diagrams in the following pages. We also offer some hints and special Information for smokers, which we feel confident will prove of interest, and, if followed, contribute muck to the delight of smoking.

Most inventions that meet with wide popular favour are imitated, and Peterson's Patent has been no exception to this rule. We regard as the sincerest form of flattery, and a valuable testimonial, the fact that imitators, recognising so thoroughly the merits of Peterson's Patent Pipes, should seek to take advantage of their great popularity by offering spurious articles, similar in outward appearance. Where necessary, however, we have promptly taken action to protect our rights.

In conclusion, while we feel sure that this success is principally due to the merits of the article we offer, we wish to thank our many friends at home and abroad for their valuable Support and patronage, which we fully appreciate, and assure them that we shall continue to direct our efforts in every way we think will be beneficial to the smoking world.
