Manufacturer Description:
The Makhuwa - is a good medium-strength Burley-mixture. The base of this blend is a strong, chocolaty Malawi Burley blended with some Red Virginia, Louisiana Perique and a Virginia / White Burley Cube Cut. The Makhuwa stands out by its deliciously spicy, sweet and subtly nutty flavors. The Makhuwa - a robust, nutty spicy Mixture for lovers of distinctive blends.
Characterisation:
The typical round tin with pressure lid and additional plastic lid is well suited to store the Collaboration Makhuwa even for a long time without drying out. The proportion of Ready Rubbed bits is very high, so it is hard to tell what loose fibers and what is well rubbed out pressed tobacco. The tobaccos are equally dark, medium and light brown and the scent reminds of raisins with chocolate. Due to the high proportion of pressed tobaccos, the Collaboration Makhuwa can be pre-dried for one hour before being stuffed, but it is not really too moist.
Plugging:
Anyone with some experience with Ready Rubbed tobacco knows that Mixtures containing them should not be stuffed too tightly, as the tobacco needs some room to expand. For this reason you should not make the pipe too full or choose a pipe that is too small. A few loose tobacco crumbs last added to the filling, facilitate the following lighting.
Light up:
Due to the generous proportions of Ready Rubbed the Collaboration Makhuwa rises under the first flame is slightly, so you should smooth the filling once gently with the tamper, before again evenly giving fire. This leads to a very reliable glow.
Smoking properties:
The Collaboration Makhuwa offers a very pleasant smoking experience. In addition to the uncomplicated style of tobacco, the smoke is soft and strikingly cool. Although not lacking in substance, the flavors are mild-spicy. The Burley used, clearly plays the leading role here. But this very varied. To the typical and clearly pronounced nuttiness joins a soft toasted bread note and a warm natural sweetness, which reaches to chocolate and is reminiscent of the cold scent. Virginia peaks are barely noticeable and the Perique is elegantly rounding off in the background. After leisurely burning, only slightly gray, fine ashes and hardly any condensate remain to be cleaned.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Collaboration Makhuwa is for tobacco, but suitable for non-smoking society if it is tolerant.
Conclusion:
The Collaboration Makhuwa is a Mixture in all shades of brown with a copious amount of Ready Rubbed, which also dictates the preparation. At least you should not be too inexperienced with this type of tobacco, but the taste should also appeal to beginners. What is striking about the Collaboration Makhuwa is its mildness, which is explained not by lack of spice, but by a very cool burn. Above all, the soft smoke transports the delicately spicy, nutty aromas of the main tobacco Burley, which also has a striking chocolate sweetness that gives the Virginia and Perique only the finishing touch. One would like to recommend this tobacco especially to smokers who may be used to flavored Mixtures - here you can really experience what pure tobacco is able to produce for flavors. Smokers of natural Mixtures will enjoy the Collaboration Makhuwa anyway!
