Manufacturer Description:
A nuanced blend of Virginias from various sources in different cut widths and types, including ready rubbed and cube cuts. Refined with double fermented Black Cavendish and Burley. A mild, fruity blend enriched with aromas of candied orange, honey and pine resin invite you to linger and just enjoy the flavour.
Characterisation:
If you open the round tin of the Auenland Sunset Mixture and open the paper, you will see a barely damp cardboard insert. Below is the mixture of golden, light and black-brown tobacco fibers of predominantly medium-wide cut. Very finely ground Ready Rubbed mixes in with it. The rising scent is penetrating, with a liqueur-like sweetness and a clear hint of orange. Since the tobacco still contains some residual moisture, you can let it dry a little before plugging.
Plugging:
Due to the fine cut, the Auenland Sunset Mixture can be brought into the pipe very easily. As usual for loose mixtures, you should only make sure to plug loosely at the bottom and gradually tighter towards the top.
Light up:
The slightly damp tobacco of the Auenland Sunset Mixture rises a little under the first flame, but gentle pressure with the tamper and another flame are enough to achieve an even burn.
Smoking properties:
The taste of the Auenland Sunset Mixture shows a gentle sweetness that is clearly reminiscent of orange. The pine resin aroma is more subtle, but adds an interesting aspect to the smoke that's worth to follow in tasting. The best way to do is to exhale the smoke through your nose. Then you taste woody-tart notes. Together with the basic tobaccos, the tobacco is enriched with a pleasant spiciness. The tobacco is soft and pleasant to smoke without straining the tongue, even if you smoke a little carelessly. Only towards the end does the sweet aroma fade into the background and let the more spicy basic tobaccos emerge more clearly. Some medium gray ash and hardly any condensate make the subsequent cleaning very uncomplicated.
Redolency:
In the smoke the smell of the Auenland Sunset Mixture is characterized by the sweet orange aroma. In the environment of tolerant non-smokers, tobacco can therefore certainly meet with benevolence.
Conclusion:
The Auenland Sunset Mixture is a light mixture with darker sprinklings, whose strong orange aroma is reflected in both the fragrance and the smoke. The course of the smoke is particularly interesting due to the pine resin used in the background. The uncomplicated nature and the moderate strength of the Auenland Sunset Mixture also makes the tobacco suitable for everyone who appreciates strongly flavored tobaccos and is looking for something for any time. But even beginners who want to try an interestingly flavored tobacco will be happy with the Auenland Sunset Mixture.
