Manufacturer Description:
Soft to the taste, Brown Clunee is a mixture of different Virginia tobaccos which content a discreet sweetness and exquisite, native tobacco flavours. Very dark, but mild is the only description, which applies to that tobacco. With that we want to convoy to the reader, that this mixture is very pleasant to the palate.
Characterisation:
The view of the tobacco shows a ready rubbed, medium to darker brown flake. Rather small pieces, which feel subjective damply between the fingers. Opening the tin an intensive smell of Virginia appears, accompanied with a subliminal sweetly smell, which could be a very small amount of herb honey.
Plugging:
Twisted between the fingers to fluffy bowls and rather loosely plugged bowl for bowl into the pipe with not too much pressure, the Brown Clunee could be plugged very well.
Light up:
The tobacco could be light up with one or two flames without any problems, but thereby swell up a little bit. Once dampened with the tamper and with another flame it glows constant.
Smoking properties:
The Brown Clunee shows the typical, sweet, but strong taste of Virginia with a few peaks of lemon. Very mild to the tongue a light sweetly aftertaste remains, so one could think there was a small amount of honey added. With less attention the tobacco tends to smoke hot, but it doesn’t resent this and keeps astoundingly good-natured it’s aroma constancy! With the draw-frequency the temperature could be regulated very well and it’s not necessary to let it die down and light up again. Burning down is with less condensate and the remaining ash is medium grey and fine.
Redolency:
The redolence is affected by Virginia, but also with a sweetly background, what will make it more accepted as other pure Virginias.
Conclusion:
A pleasing, very tongue-mild tobacco with a constant aroma. Not for any occasion, because it needs some attention, but for relaxing or light work, which allows a little bit attention to the smoke, applicable. Also a good “TV-tobacco”. Not absolutely recommended for beginners, but for changer from aromatic mixtures to native English tobaccos. For the experts recommended as “all-days” too. Remarkable is the good aroma constancy rather to the end of the smoke.
