Manufacturer Description:
A delicious mixture of Orange, Bright Virginia and Burley leaves, blended with cured Black Cavendish, highly aromatic with the fragrance of juicy plums and tender vanilla.
Characterisation:
Ilsteds Own No. 55 is a mixture of medium brown and black tobaccos. By opening the tin a fruity-aromatic smell of plum and vanilla streams out of the tin. The tobacco is cut small and in different length. The humidity is optimal.
Plugging:
The mixture could be plugged in easy, whereby it should not be compressed too much.
Light up:
Ilsteds Own No. 55 could be light up very well with one or two flames and nearly doesn’t tend to straighten up.
Smoking properties:
Ilsteds Own No. 55 should be smoked with some attention to its temperature. Smoked slowly and cool the aromas of fruity plum and sweet vanilla could expand best. The aromas are as intensive that a light nutty taste of tobacco could only be remarked in the back. The tobacco glows down constant without much condensate. The aroma drops a little bit at the end in aid of the nutty taste of tobacco. A balance of medium fine bright and dark ash reminds.
Redolency:
The redolence is dominated by the aromas, whereby the sweetness is soften by the nutty smell of Burley. Ilsteds Own No. 55 is a tobacco with an unobtrusive redolence and should be welcome in most surroundings.
Conclusion:
Ilsteds Own No. 55 is a medium to dark brown mixture with a fruity-sweet smell of plum and vanilla. The sweet taste and the redolence are pleasing soften by a nutty nuance of Burley so the tobacco is rather unobtrusive. To let the aromas come into one’s own its necessary to smoke slowly and cool. Thereby the tobacco glows down constant and without much condensate. The aromas drop down to the end in aid of the nutty taste of Burley. Ilsteds Own No. 55 is a light tobacco, which – smoked attentive – is recommended for beginners. For advanced smokers it may be a welcome alternation, but no a must-have.
