Manufacturer Description:
Very rich and powerful in the taste, please dose sparingly.
Characterisation:
The Kentucky U.S.A. is medium to predominantly dark brown and rather broad and long cut. The fragrance from the tin is smoky and at the same time sweetish, so that it reminds almost of smoked ham. The consistency is very dry so that the tobacco almost disintegrates, but this is rather advantageous for mixing, since it is easier to add the required pinch.
Plugging:
The Kentucky U.S.A. can be stuffed simply because of the dry consistency: begin down loosely and become stronger towards the top. Since the tobacco rises, one should not stuff up completely to the edge, but leave some air up.
Light up:
Despite its drought, the Kentucky U.S.A. rises under the flame and should be smoothed once with the tamper before providing a second flame for an even glow.
Smoking properties:
Smoking the Kentucky U.S.A. pure is not recommended! The tobacco is strong to very strong and rich in nicotine, which is felt especially on an empty stomach and you should be careful not to inhale the smoke. The typical aroma, which is named for the Kentucky is its peppery, which one feels especially in the nose. This is also the case with the Kentucky U.S.A .. In addition, there are strong smoky flavors, as well as a distinct tobacco wort and a tart nuttyness. The remaining medium gray, very fine ash and barely perceptible condensation do not make any cleaning work.
Redolency:
The redolency of the Kentucky U.S.A. is smoky and tobacco, which is not necessarily suitable for non-smoking companies. A Mixture with this tobacco, however, does not loose its aroma even in the fresh air.
Conclusion:
The Kentucky U.S.A. is a dark and smoky fragrant Loose Cut, which wants to be with some attention into the pipe and be ignited. Also the tobacco should be smoked attentive; as recommended by the manufacturer, the Kentucky U.S.A. due to its strength and the strong taste is especially as a supporting spice, to give Virginia Mixtures the final touch. For the first time the more experienced smoker can mix 4/5 Virginia with 1/5 Kentucky; if one is more courageously ventured to a more powerful mixture of 3/4 Virginia with 1/4 Kentucky. If you are experienced with stronger tobaccos, you can mix a classic and blend the loose Mixture of the Irish Flake, so to speak. This is made up of 1/3 Virginia, 1/3 Burley and 1/3 Kentucky - a mixture, which is the real thing, because the Irish Flake is called even by experienced connoisseurs that you need a licence for it.
