Manufacturer Description:
The Untouchables is based on various Ready Rubbed Virginias and a touch of English Black Cavendish. The medium-strong tobaccos are characterized by a pleasant sweetness and creaminess. They harmonize perfectly with the cedar and rose aromas used. The Untouchables offers an extravagant spectrum of flavors that is anything but ordinary. If you are looking for something special, but do not want to do without high-quality basic tobacco, we recommend the Untouchables. Try and love it!
Characterisation:
If you open the pressurized lid, you will see The Untouchables as an irregularly rubbed flake. The larger pieces are medium brown with golden yellow marbling, with many loose, shorter fibers mingling underneath. These are both golden and reddish brown Virginia as well as dark brown Black Cavendish. When sniffing, a floral-sweet scent vaguely reminiscent of soap can be perceived, which is reminiscent of Irish blends. Almost unusual for a flavored tobacco: the moisture content of The Untouchables is just right to be able to pack it immediately.
Plugging:
Due to the somewhat irregularly ground flake, you should be careful when plugging. You can continue to grate the coarser pieces, in any case you should not fill the pipe too tightly. However, it is easily possible to get The Untouchables into the pipe in the usual way, increasing in strength towards the top.
Light up:
Since the tobacco has a good consistency, it is easy to light. In order to create an even bed of embers, you should smooth it out again with the tamper and light the fire again. Once the The Untouchables is well burning, it rarely needs re-firing.
Smoking properties:
First of all, the unusual aromatization of The Untouchables is striking. Some may be familiar with the scent of cigar boxes made from cedar wood. The tart, very slightly ethereal-medicinal aroma is reminiscent of this. The roses remain very much in the background and can at best be perceived as slightly flowery, as is known from some Irish blends. Nevertheless, the basic tobaccos are not completely superimposed. The various Virginias contained in The Untouchables deliver the full range of aromas that this tobacco variety can offer. In addition to notes of grass and hay, dried fruit, woody aromas and hints of toast can also be tasted. The English Black Cavendish gives the whole a fine sweet rounding and volume. The Untouchables burns calmly and rarely needs to be lit again. Moisture hardly forms either, which is why only a little light gray ash remains, which means little work when cleaning.
Redolency:
The room note is usually more pleasant with flavored tobaccos than with natural tobaccos. But the unusual aromatization of The Untouchables, which can also be smelled in the smoke, could irritate non-smokers. One should therefore pay attention to a suitable environment.
Conclusion:
The Untouchables is a Ready Rubbed that's pretty easy to plug, light up and smoke too. Flavored tobaccos are sometimes too moist. Because of this, they can be snappy or challenging to smoke or in cleaning. Not so with The Untouchables. The flavoring promises an unusual smoking experience, and it is. In addition to intense cedar and a light floral scent, the underlying Virginias can still be tasted with their usual aromas of hay, toast and dried fruit. You can devote yourself to this in peace and quiet, since The Untouchables can be smoked in a relaxed manner and is more in the medium strength range. Nevertheless, the unusual aroma recommends it less as everyday tobacco and more when you are in the mood for a special aroma.
