Manufacturer Description:
Dark, long cut Virginia tobaccos and a pinch of Louisiana Perique give a full aroma, combined with a smooth taste and peppery finish.
Characterisation:
Unlike, as announced by the manufacturer, the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth appears in its round tin rather mixed light and medium brown with darker proportions. The cut is sometimes actually longer, but that does not affect the entire cut. With its appetizing smell of dried figs, a good Virginia betrays the practiced nose and also hints at a touch of chocolate, which, however, is also attributable to the underlying tobaccos and not to an aroma. Since the tobacco looks a bit damp at least when the tin is opened for the first time, you should allow the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth to dry slightly before you can plug it.
Plugging:
The Heritage Majesty Elisabeth is a Loose Cut and is easily added to the pipe, finishing with gentle pressure at the end.
Light up:
Here, too, the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth makes no further difficulties: lighting, gently pressing with the tamper and re-fire, then the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth burns undemanding.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth is surprisingly mild, pleasantly nutty and provided with a nice toasted bread note. The fine Virginias play their full range of soft flavors here, and so is a clear natural sweet setting for the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth. The used Perique is more restrained than to be thought after the manufacturer's description, but that is not unpleasant. The small pinch of pepper keeps the tobacco excellent from slipping to insignificancy and so the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth can be described as a rather mild representative of the Virginia-Perique-mixtures. The uncomplicated burning without the to be named almost typical problems of such mixtures, such as tongue-burning and gargling, as well as the medium gray ash and the just trace amounts of condensate, make the cleaning conceivable uncomplicated.
Redolency:
The smell in the room of the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth is for tobacco and slightly harsh due to the contained Perique, which makes the tobacco not necessarily recommended for non-smoking societies.
Conclusion:
The Heritage Majesty Elisabeth is less like the manufacturer's description, which is neither unusual nor disadvantageous. The rather medium-brown, somewhat irregularly cut tobacco can be so easyly ignited and smoked that you could puff it by the way. In fact, the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth does not require much attention for a Virginia-Perique-mixture, and the real fans may also lack some spice, but anyone else who likes mild blends or might just want to try a periqued tobacco should give the Heritage Majesty Elisabeth a chance. Especially the Virginias deliver intense natural sweetness with nice roasted and bread flavors, paired with nuttyness and of such a pleasant mildness that you could forget that pure Virginia otherwise like to worry about tongue-burning – absolutely appropriate for beginner! The Perique underscores with subtle spice the overall picture and so even advanced smokers will not be bored.
