Manufacturer Description:
Bright and Red Virginia, Perique and a hint of Latakia form the basis of the Asmara Blend. Spicy oriental tobaccos give the Asmara Blend its unmistakable taste and character. The Asmara is an oriental Blend that smoked slow and cool convinces with very subtle flavors. A blend for friends of natural tobacco flavors.
Characterisation:
The pressure lid of the round tin of the Collaboration Asmara is provided with an additional plastic lid, which allows the tobacco to be stored well over a long period of time. The fine, curly and longer-cut tobacco fibers are predominantly light brown, with medium and dark brown parts. They emit a sweetish scent with subtle smoke in the background and feel between the fingers very slightly sticky, so you can pre-dry the tobacco for about half an hour before plugging.
Plugging:
Due to the longer cut of the Collaboration Asmara you should be careful not to accidentally plug the tobacco too tightly, otherwise the puffing may become too heavy. Keeping this in mind, the Collaboration Asmara can be plugged like any loose Mixture by starting loosely down and gently firmer getting up.
Light up:
The Collaboration Asmara rises a little under the flame, so that after the first flame, once for smoothing, you drive over the filling with the tamper. The resulting embers reliably hold until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of Collaboration Asmara is lush and powerfully aromatic. Sweetness is not to be found, instead strong smokiness, leather and especially the dominant oriental tobaccos. The Latakia is not of the light ethereal variety, but tart-spicy. The Oriental is sour and grassy to taste, the sour note is still supported by the Perique. The burn is completely uncomplicated, also because the intensity of the flavors, helps from being too greedy to smoke, yet the tobacco is not too strong. To clean remains only slightly fine ash and hardly any condensate.
Redolency:
Due to the content of oriental tobaccos and Perique the redolence of the Collaboration Asmara is tart-spicy, so that the tobacco is especially suitable for smoking societies.
Conclusion:
The Collaboration Asmara is a fine Mixture of a rather light color, yet delivers the stronger flavors that can be attributed to the Latakia and the Oriental. The aromas are strong and characterized by a rich tobacco spice that covers the wide spectrum between sour, grassy, as well as tart and leathery notes. So this tobacco gives especially experienced lovers of English Mixtures a varied smoking experience. Especially for the later hours of the day or after a full meal, the Collaboration Asmara is excellent.
