Manufacturer Description:
Latakia and Oriental tobaccos are lightly toasted in the drying drum. Visually, the bright tobaccos dominate. Traditional English with a gentle aroma.
Characterisation:
The Heritage Oxford Street is a light to medium brown Mixture of narrow and longer cut tobacco fibers, in which black-brown components are mixed in. The fragrance is sweet and smoky, as you would expect for an oriental Mixture, and you will be surprised by a hint of prunes. Although the tobacco was firmly pressed into the tin, it is not too humid so that the Heritage Oxford Street can be instantly plugged.
Plugging:
As a loose Mixture the Heritage Oxford Street can be plugged quite simple. A uniform burn is achieved when you start loosely with the filling at the bottom and ends with gentle pressure.
Light up:
After the first flame, gently use the tamper to smoothen the surface for the second flame so that an uniform glow can be created on the prepared surface.
Smoking properties:
The Heritage Oxford Street provides a soft smoke in which mainly roast notes combine with bread flavors, only in the background is the typical fine, ethereal aroma of Latakia to taste. The gentle spiciness every now and then increases in intensity, becomes intense, almost peppery, and then delicately flatters the palate again. This, in conjunction with an unusual wood note, makes the course of the smoke - despite the consistent soft tone - interesting and varied. The burning is very even and relaxed and also the cleaning of the bright, fine ash and the hardly existing condensate makes no further circumstances.
Redolency:
As an oriental Mixture the Heritage Oxford Street is intense in the room and for tart tobacco, so it is not necessarily suitable for societies.
Conclusion:
The Heritage Oxford Street is composed of rather light tobaccos and also in the taste it does not immediately remind of a supposedly dark, oriental Mixture. In addition to toasted bread notes surprise a very mild, palatial spice, which can sometimes be peppery, and a dry woody note. This interplay of mild and spicy makes the otherwise - in the good sense - completely inconspicuous Heritage Oxford Street an interesting Mixture of English character, which is due to its not too strong kind even suitable for the earlier hours of the day.
