Manufacturer Description:
This Blend was composed predominantly of mature Virginia tobaccos and is harmoniously refined with exquisite Burley from Africa. The tobacco reveals a nutty undertone.
Characterisation:
The Heritage Ready Rubbed is a good and evenly prepared Flake, its components are composed of light and dark parts. The scent of the freshly opened tin is sweetish-fruity and reminiscent of peach. Because the tobacco is slightly damp between the fingers, you can let the Heritage Ready Rubbed dry for a short time before plugging.
Plugging:
The Heritage Ready Rubbed, with its fine rubbed consistency, can be plugged almost like a Loose Mixture. If you start loosely down and get firmer towards the top, you will ensure an even burning.
Light up:
For a Ready Rubbed, the tobacco is extremely easy to ignite, as the pressed tobacco-pieces do not tend to expand under the flame, gently smoothing with the tamper will create an uniform surface that can then be quickly and easily ignited by the second flame. So the Heritage Ready Rubbed offers a long-lasting glow until the end.
Smoking properties:
Striking is immediately the pronounced mildness of the smoke. Still, the Heritage Ready Rubbed is not boring, it only plays in a whole different range of Virginia flavor. The usual seasoning here is rather subtle, it seems more like a rounding pinch, which was added to the whole for seasoning. A hint of nut, gentle roasted aromas and juicy rye bread-associations form the basic structure; which is accompanied by a flowery lightness that flatters the palate. However, this accent, which lovers of Irish-influenced Mixtures love so much, does not resemble the perfumed, and sometimes soapy, aromas of these tobaccos. The aromas combine very well with each other and thus support the general impression of lightheartedness and clear natural sweetness. Since only a medium gray ash and almost no condensate remain after a completely inconspicuous burn, the subsequent cleaning is just as uncomplicated.
Redolency:
The room note of the Heritage Ready Rubbed is just tobacco, but not intrusive, so that in society - assuming tolerance for smokers - should not attract attention.
Conclusion:
The beautifully prepared Heritage Ready Rubbed is as easy to plug as to light and smoking makes no effort at all. This compares with its pronounced mildness, which, however, by no means gives the impression of arbitrariness. This very naturally sweet tobacco is reminiscent of Irish Mixtures, but without showing their sometimes intrusive peculiarities. Roasted and bread flavors combine with a fine florality, which obviously does not need the support of a flavor. Anyone who prefers milder tobaccos or wants to "get a taste of the Irish" should definitely try it. But even beginners will not be disappointed by this "easy" but not simple tobacco.
