Manufacturer Description:
Black Cavendish is the base of this blend. Smoky, Cypriote Latakia, different Virginia tobaccos and fine Orient are added, to give this mixture it’s volume.
Characterisation:
A coloured mixture from bright to dark brown with a few black streaks. This tobacco is medium cut and feels mellow with optimal humidity. A strong smell of spicy tobacco comes out of the tin, where a good portion of Latakia is noticeable, but not displeasing.
Plugging:
The Black Mallory is easy to plug, with the smokers favourite method for mixtures.
Light up:
It’s simple to light up the tobacco. It tends a little bit to swell, but with one or two flames and slightly compressing with the tamper, nothing gets in the way for a pleasurably smoke.
Smoking properties:
This tobacco is definitely affected by Latakia! That and spicy Orient will combine with Virginia and Black Cavendish to a harmonic, mellow mixture, whereas with the course of the smoke a given strength will come to the front. Once lighted up, the Black Mallory glows constant without any tend to overheat and builds only a little bit condensate. The taste is nearly equal. At the end the spicy parts of the mixture will come to the front. As the tobacco dies down, a medium grey and dry ash will remain.
Redolency:
The redolence is affected by the spicy tobaccos and Latakia, too. For enthusiasts of English Latakia mixtures that’s rather unobtrusive and pleasing – for other persons the redolence could be a little bit importunately. It’s an good idea to enjoy the Black Mallory in societies, which will like the smell of Latakia or at last tolerate it...
Conclusion:
A well done mixture of spicy tobaccos and Latakia, rounded with Virginia and Black Cavendish. Definitely affected by Latakia and spicy Orient, but for the smoker in spite of the strength a mellow pleasure. Kindly to the tongue and a rather constant taste. A little bit heavy in the redolence and therefore it’s recommended to enjoy this tobacco in societies of like-minded people.
