Manufacturer Description:
The best of the specially aromatic varieties from Tuscany and Umbria were selected for this Italian blend. The yellow of excellent virgin grades harmonized with the dark reflections of black Cavendish.
Characterisation:
The cube-shaped box of the Classico Reserva houses a golden cellophane bag, which is unfortunately not resealable, so you should transfer the tobacco for an extended storage in an airtight container. Under the broad and long cut, light and medium brown tobacco fibers mix light brown flaky fibers. The scent is fruity-sweet and less reminiscent of orange, but pleasantly of red fruits. The moisture content of the tobacco is so well balanced that it can be plugged without further pre-drying.
Plugging:
As a loose mixture, you can plug the Classico Reserva in the usual way, starting loosely down and tighter getting upwards. So the burning does not cause any problems.
Light up:
After the first flame, gently smooth the surface with the tamper to ensure that the next flame provides a steady glow that lasts until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of the Classico Reserva is remarkably mild, downright cool. The natural base note of the used tobaccos is soft and nutty, which harmonizes well with the sweet aroma. This gives the smoke by its fruitiness a juicy-seeming fullness, which combines wonderfully with the nutty tobaccos and their mildness. Also pleasant is, that the aroma lasts until almost the end of the filling and the very quiet burning. It remains bright, powdery ashes and a little sticky condensate.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Classico Reserva is clearly marked by the sweet aroma, so that in society, which identifies this as a "typical pipe fragrance", it can be noticed quite positive.
Conclusion:
The Classico Reserva comes as a so-called Variant-Cut in a mixture of loose, longer cut, darker tobaccos and light flaky fibers. The sweet scent of fruits is also reflected in the smoke, even if it does not necessarily remind of the orange flavor used. In combination with the nutty and mild basic tobaccos it still creates a sweet and uncomplicated smoking pleasure, which is especially appealing to lovers of clearly flavored Mixtures. The pleasant room fragrance also knows how to convince the non-smoker.
