Manufacturer Description:
Three Year Matured Virginia
Since 1923
This pleasant blend consists mainly of Virginia tobacco, which is aged for at least three years. Enriched with carefully selected oriental tobaccos arises a smoke experience in an extraordinary way, backed by hints of rich dried fruit, sweet raisins and delicious coffee.
Characterisation:
The Three Years Matured is uniformly brown, with a few brighter and darker portions. On the nose there is no Orient revealed, but the scent of dried fruit, which is intrinsically for good Virginias. The more fine and long cutted tobacco is pressed firmly into the round tin, which could be cause for concern, that the tobacco is adhesive and is therefore too wet, but it is right conditioned to be smoked immediately.
Plugging:
The Three Years Matured should be plugged getting tighter upwards the filling and makes in the following course of smoking no problems.
Light up:
The Three Years Matured takes the flame immediately. Potentially, you can help out with the tamper and gemtle smoothing the glow on the surface, then the tobacco burns more even until the end.
Smoking properties:
The Three Years Mature wants to be smoked slowly and deliberately, so its flavors emerge. It is spicy and strong smoky by firmer puffing on the pipe, but then it tingles on the tongue, too. Only when one smokes it very cool, rather than sipping the pipe than puffing on it, mildly bitter cocoa notes are to taste and an extremely fine perfume caresses the tongue and palate. Mid-gray ash, and yet some condensate, despite careful smoking, remain at the end.
Redolency:
The room touch of Three Years Matured is natural and genuine for tobacco requires a tolerant society, as long as it consists of non-smokers.
Conclusion:
The Three Years Matured is a predominantly brown, finely chopped mixture that smells more like dried fruit than for the contained Oriental. Easy to plug and ignite it is, but it expects some attention while smoking, which will mobilize more experienced connoisseurs. These however can taste spicy as perfumed and bittersweet cocoa notes. A tobacco which is worth to be enjoyed slowly and therefore could possibly tame the occasional "hothead".
