Manufacturer Description:
A well-balanced mixture of whole- hearted Black Cavendish and naturally sweet Virginia. Forti ed with the aromatic variety of hops, malt and vanilla, it exudes an extremely pleasant fragrance.
Characterisation:
The cut of the predominant dark-brown Cavendish is coarse and almost flaky, while the medium and light brown tobaccos that mix under show a finer and longer cut. When opened fresh the scent rising from the tin of the No 3 Bavarian Blend reminds one of a typical vanilla-flavored tobacco, but behind the sweetness you can still smell a sparkling tartness, which can be ascribed to hops. Since the No 3 Bavarian Blend is a bit wet between the fingers, you should let the tobacco dry for a while before plugging.
Plugging:
The different components of the No 3 Bavarian Blend, make it necessary to pay attention to the plugging, because the tobacco can be a bit bulky and so the pipe could possibly be filled too tightly. If one pays attention to this peculiarity, then one can give the No 3 Bavarian Blend in the usual way upwards firmly into the pipe.
Light up:
Slightly pre-dried, the No 3 Bavarian Blend requires relatively little attention when lit. Once the surface is evenly lit, smooth it gently with the tamper and then create a steady glow with the second flame.
Smoking properties:
As with many flavored tobaccos, the No 3 Bavarian Blend also means that you should keep it cool and not smoke too greedy, so it does not tingle on the tongue. As expected in the cold scent, the vanilla is quite dominant to taste. However, if one deliberately smokes and "sips" the smoke, so to speak, one may actually feel reminded of beer. Sweetish-spicy notes of malt can then be tasted as well as a slightly bitter, tart aroma that is reminiscent of the hop note of a beer. Since the tobacco appears quite light and mild, it even feels like the softness of foam, which completes the impression. The aroma lasts until the last third of the filling, while the tobacco burns down well and leaves only a little medium gray ash and very little condensate.
Redolency:
The scent of the No 3 Bavarian Blend is not too burdensome for non-smoking companies due to its vanilla-based aroma.
Conclusion:
The predominantly dark brown No 3 Bavarian Blend requires some attention in the preparation due to its slightly inconsistent cutting and smoking should not be too thoughtless, as the tobacco can tingle on the tongue otherwise. Thus, the No 3 Bavarian Blend, despite its mildness is not suitable for the very inexperienced smoker. The aroma is very vanilla-toned, but keeping the pipe cool, so malty and hoppy-tart aromas show, which convey the impression of a good beer with the soft, almost foamy lightness of the smoke and so the No 3 Bavarian Blend apperas as an interesting flavored tobacco, which could make so many lovers curious of this direction.
