Manufacturer Description:
Classically processed Virgina flake with US Kentucky.
Characterisation:
The Germain's Brown Flake is cut in clean slices about 7.5 cm long, 3.5 cm wide and about 1.5 mm thickness. They are stacked in the can accurately. The tobacco is medium brown with some darker and a few gold-colored inclusions. The scent is salty, according to peat and seaweed. Very unusual! The flakes are quite damp and are difficult to remove in one piece, which is why you should leave the box open about 1 hour before plugging, then it succeeds easier to remove the flake with some caution.
Plugging:
The Germain's Brown Flake can be packed in different ways. The flavors vary if you rub the flake or fold it before bringing it into the tobacco chamber - so it's worth experimenting. Since the tobacco rears a little when lighting, it should not be packed too tightly. Finer tobacco residues are a great “tinder” for lighting it up.
Light up:
The Germain's Brown Flake can be ignited quite easily, but it is advantageous to smooth the tobacco after the first ignition with the pusher and then to fire him one more time, then he glows until the end.
Smoking properties:
The Germain's Brown Flake reminds you if you smoke it rubbed out with its tangy sweet tobacco flavors at a good Virginia cigar. Smoked creased and folded in a sufficiently large head the tobacco actually tastes similar to how it smells in the tin: slightly salty, with a hint of seaweed and iodine, tarry hemp ropes and peat smoke. A fascinating experience that moves you to the coast of the Island of Jersey, where the tobacco comes from. Strong it is, but gentle on the tongue, and it only leaves a little gray ash that requires little cleaning.
Redolency:
The room note of Germain's Brown Flake is tart and tobacco genuine, therefore less suited for non-smoking companies, but because of its strong flavors it ideal to be smoked outdoors.
Conclusion:
The Germain's Brown Flake is a light brown Flake, cut clean, but a bit damp. The scent is exceptional and may discourage some beginners. Otherwise his easy handling when plugging and smoking makes it quite suitable for beginners, but you should be familiar already with stronger tobaccos. A recommendation not only for the connoisseur of Islay Whisky!
