Stanwell A/S In August 2007 I had the chance to visit Stanwell’s
pipe factory in Borup, Denmark. On the way back from a visit to Poul Winsløw we
stopped in Borup. The factory is located in a small industrial park. Stanwell’s
manager Jørgen Grundtvig was already waiting for us when we arrived on the
premises and gave us a hearty welcome. to the

Production Before the real pipe making process can begin, every
block is measured to find adequately sized blocks for each pipe shape. Then the
briar blocks are put into these wooden boxes, whose labels designate their
future shape. At this point the “fate” of each block has been determined, and it
knows what it will become. to the

Stanwell Museum It
was Jørgen Grundtvig’s idea to establish a pipe museum at Stanwell’s. A “Pipe
Of The Year”-Collection and an overview of all shapes that have ever been
