Characterisation:
Once you have opened the company's typical small, round tin of Maltese Falcon with the ring-pull closure, it can be closed again with the plastic lid. However, a securely airtight container is better suited for longer storage. The mixture, in which different shades of brown mix, is made up of short and curly fibers. Since the Maltese Falcon contains both Latakia and Oriental, it's no surprise to notice a smoky, sweet scent wafting out of the open tin. Since the tobacco can clench up a bit between your fingers, you should let the Maltese Falcon dry for half an hour before plugging it.
Plugging:
The short fibers of the Maltese Falcon can be easily inserted into the pipe. You start loosely at the bottom and fill upwards with gently increasing pressure.
Light up:
Shortly pre-dried, the broad fibers of the Maltese Falcon accept the flame well. Use gentle pressure to smooth the surface and then fire evenly again. That's all you need for long-lasting glow.
Smoking properties:
The Maltese Falcon shows very English. It has a lush, soft smoke. Aromatically, the Maltese Falcon falls somewhere between spice and incense. Sometimes the latter seems almost floral in its ethereal note. The smoke process is made exciting by the rather unusual wood and leather aromas, which, however, never seem too strong or even cigar-like. Hints of rustic bread and a fine natural sweetness round off the taste experience pleasantly. Sometimes it may happen that you have to push the embers closer to the tobacco with the tamper. Otherwise the burning is uncomplicated. Just as cleaning a little fine, light ash takes little effort.
Redolency:
The room note of the Maltese Falcon does not hide the oriental tobaccos contained in it, although it is not overwhelming. As with all natural tobaccos, it is still advisable to be considerate of non-smoking people.
Conclusion:
The Maltese Falcon is a mixture of tobaccos in different shades of brown. Latakia and Oriental are already revealed in the smoky-sweet cold scent. The smoke is also typically English: lush it caresses the palate and is as spicy as it is ethereal. Woody and leathery aromas are balanced with natural sweetness and dark bread. The exciting interplay of Virginia and oriental tobaccos will convince everyone who prefers English blends and is looking for a classic representative of this style that still brings something special.
