Characterisation:
The Pipemaster Red is packed in a pouch and is practical for on the go. However, the opened tobacco is stored better when transferred to an airtight container. Some of the tobaccos are cut very long and curled. Among the predominantly light and medium brown fibers there are dark brown, coarse flaky leaves, which occasionally also have veins. The scent is reminiscent of hay and spicy-sweet fruit bread. Due to the well-balanced moisture content, Pipemaster Red can be given into the pipe immediately after opening.
Plugging:
The long fibers and different cutting widths require a little attention when plugging the Pipemaster Red. However, not much is necessary. The easiest way to do this is to tear apart the longest fibers. If you choose a pipe that is not too small, you give the tobacco room to develop. Then you don't plug too hard and end with just gentle pressure.
Light up:
After this preparation you can light the Pipemaster Red with two flames. If you press the surface softly with the tamper after the first flame, you will create an even glow with the second flame.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of the Pipemaster Red mainly shows clear toasted bread notes. There is also a nutty aroma that is usually associated with Burley. The natural sweetness of the tobaccos is combined with a pleasant spiciness, as one would expect from a mixture described as Scottish. Due to the different, somewhat coarser cuts, it can happen that you have to light the fire again - despite the otherwise inconspicuous smoking behavior. However, this is not affecting the taste. After the embers have finally gone out, only a few unburned crumbs and some brown-gray ash remain to be cleaned.
Redolency:
The room note of Pipemaster Red is not intrusive, but natural. So you should be considerate of non-smoking people.
Conclusion:
Packed in a pouch, the Pipemaster Red is ideal for on the go. If you pay attention when plugging the coarser, predominantly light mixture, you can also smoke the tobacco on the side. It's spicy, but not overly burdensome. Roasted bread and nuts are particularly tasted, rounded off with a little natural sweetness. The Pipemaster Red delivers an uncomplicated but not unexciting taste that will convince fans of natural tobaccos.
