Since the introduction of Golden Blend in 1952, this tobacco has found quite a lot connoisseurs around the world. Carefully selected, dark Burley tobaccos with a hint of golden Virginia are pressed and stored gently. The large pieces are cut and partially ready rubbed, so you can easily fill this tobacco in the pipe. This slow-burning tobacco has a light cocoa note - typical of good Burley tobacco.
In the pouch-version, the Golden Blend is great to take away, while the larger tins are more reliably hermetically sealed, making them more suitable for extended storage, even when they were opened. The Golden Blend consists for the most part of Ready Rubbed, which has been finely rubbed but cut longer. These individual pieces are even medium and dark brown with brighter inclusions. From the freshly opened tin flows a very appetizing smell of prunes and sweet chocolate, which is quite typical for the tobaccos used: Virginia and Burley. The moisture content is so well balanced that you can plug the Golden Blend immediately.
Although you can talk about a Ready Rubbed in the Golden Blend, you can plug this tobacco relatively easily. The narrow cut and the fine grating make it easy to give the tobacco down a bit more loosely than on the upper side in the pipe, finish with gentle pressure and add a few more crumbs on top, which quickly take the flame.
Also, lighting the Golden Blend is not difficult, but after the first flame, you should use the tamper once, gently press it, and then give fire again to create an uniform glow.
The smoke of the Golden Blend is quite full, but mild spicy. Striking is an intense toasted bread note that blends beautifully with the natural sweetness of Virginia and the nutritiousness of Burley. The overall impression is uncomplicated and round in the best sense of the word, while the tobacco is strong enough, both in seasoning and nicotine, so it has not to be boring. After uncomplicated burning, for cleaning only fine light ash and some condensate remain.
The scent of the Golden Blend is for tobacco, but not intrusive, so that it can certainly meet acceptance in tolerant society.
The Golden Blend is in all respects a very uncomplicated Ready Rubbed, in medium and dark brown colors. Neither the plugging nor the lighting nor smoking make any circumstances. One could smoke the tobacco by the way, but that would not quite do it, because its uncomplicated nature could lead to underestimate what it means to make each component of the tobacco to be seen, without getting a coherent overall picture out of sight. Thanks to a leveled mixture ratio and well-selected tobaccos, the intense roasted notes harmonize wonderfully with the very finely balanced roasted and nut aromas. Golden Blend exemplifies that an uncomplicated tobacco must not be boring.
