Remedy Spiced Rum ONCE FORBIDDEN, NOW REBORN – Remedy Rum originated in the 1920s during the era of Prohibition in the United States. Alcohol was only available illegally and in limited quantities, with only pharmacists being allowed to sell it for medicinal purposes. Alchemist Frank M. Farrington from New York cleverly took advantage of this law by selling Remedy Rum in stylish apothecary bottles, thus creating the trendy spirit of the secret New York party scene. To this day, Remedy Rum remains popular and offers a unique drink for every taste with its range of Remedy Spiced Rum, Remedy Pineapple, and Remedy Elixir.
Smell: Sweet, spicy. Taste: Characterful aroma with a pleasant sweetness. Fine notes of vanilla, orange, cinnamon, and pepper. Remedy Spiced Rum is a fine blend made from Caribbean rums from Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and the Dominican Republic. To this blend, the finest spices such as vanilla, orange peel, and cinnamon are added to create a characterful and multifaceted spiced rum. According to legend, Remedy Spiced Rum originated during the Prohibition era in the USA. At that time, only pharmacies were allowed to sell spirits for "medicinal purposes." Pharmacist Frank M. Farrington then developed this noble, spice-infused rum. The recipe was so successful that the rum found its use either neat, on the rocks, or in various cocktails.
