El Ron Prohibido Grand Reserva 15 The name El Ron Prohibido means "the forbidden rum" and tells a story that begins in the 18th century: both the import and production of rum in Mexico were banned by King Felipe V. However, the Mexicans ignored the prohibition, allowing a recipe to survive for centuries. With the slogan "Don't let anything be forbidden!" the rum is aimed at all those who do not want to conform to societal norms. Like no other rum, El Ron Prohibido represents rebellion against senseless regulations - and tastes devilishly good. The rum is produced by the distillery Ron Prohibido, S.A. de C.V., which is located in central Mexico.
Smell: Warm and intense aroma with plum and raisin, complemented by vanilla, wood, chocolate, and nut notes. Taste: Sweet notes of wood and raisins, chestnuts, and baked plums. Long and silky smooth finish with hints of dried fruits, vanilla, chocolate, and coffee, as well as a touch of caramel. Ron Prohibido 15, the successor to Ron Prohibido 12, matures for 15 years using the Solera process and is rounded off with a hint of raisin wine. Although Ron Prohibido falls into the rum category, it stands out with its complex aromas and distinctive, smooth, and sweet taste. An exquisite spirit with a very special, intrinsic aging process. It embodies an evolution of rum and a revolution in the world of premium spirits.
