El Ron Prohibido Silver The name El Ron Prohibido means "the forbidden rum" and tells a story that begins in the 18th century: both the import and production of rum in Mexico were banned by King Felipe V. However, the Mexicans ignored the prohibition, allowing a recipe to survive for centuries. With the slogan "Don't let anything be forbidden!" the rum is aimed at all those who do not want to conform to societal norms. Like no other rum, El Ron Prohibido represents rebellion against senseless regulations - and tastes devilishly good. The rum is produced by the distillery Ron Prohibido, S.A. de C.V., which is located in central Mexico.
Smell: Soft, sweet, and diverse notes of anise, apple, roses, raisins, and plums, as well as orange and lemon; followed by hints of mint, vanilla, and subtle nuances of olives. Taste: Gentle balance between citrus fruits and sugarcane with a silky finish of mint, nuts, and citrus fruits. Ron Prohibido Silver is a Mexican premium rum made from pure sugarcane juice. It undergoes a particularly gentle fermentation process with proprietary yeast cultures and is distilled into this rum through a triple distillation process in column and copper pot stills. After a 6-month aging period in lightly to medium toasted oak barrels, the distillate undergoes a filtration process that transforms it into this clear rum with its unique flavor profile.
