Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaica Rum As one of England's oldest producers of sugar and spirits, the origins of Smith & Cross can be traced back to the year 1788. With its extensive underground warehouses along the Thames, the company, along with its partners, has become one of the most renowned traders of Jamaican rum over the years.
Smell: Exotic, sweet, subtle wood notes. Taste: Pleasant sweetness, extremely smooth despite the high alcohol content. The typical "Jamaican" aromas linger for quite some time. Smith & Cross embodies the distinctive flavor that made Jamaican rum famous in the 19th century. Fermentation is carried out by regional wild yeasts, which significantly contribute to the rum's unique taste. Distillation takes place at the Jamaican Hampden Estate Distillery, renowned for its aromatic spirits. For Smith & Cross, only Pot Still distillates are used. The intense rum is blended from approximately equal parts of Wedderburn Rums aged for at least half a year and Plummer Rums aged between 18 months and 3 years. Smith & Cross is finally bottled at Navy Strength with 57% alcohol by volume.
