Packaged in nostalgically designed 50g tins, these high-quality flake tobaccos combine traditional craftsmanship with aromatic refinement. Classic flavors—chocolate, red fruits, and vanilla—come together with a fine selection of Oriental, Virginia, and Burley tobaccos. Their flake pressing process gives them a new depth and elegance.
All three varieties impress with their gentle smoking characteristics, balanced sweetness, and high suitability for everyday use – perfect for lovers of classic aromatics with a penchant for something special.
Purple Pearl – Fruity Lightness with Depth
Purple Pearl brings fruity lightness to the world of aromatics. Delicate notes of red berries, enveloped in a hint of biscuit-like sweetness, create a lively and balanced flavor experience. The oriental tobacco base provides a subtle spiciness, while the flake cut supports a cool and even burn. Ideal for lovers of fruity flavors with a delicate balance – playful, yet never overpowering.
Characterisation:
Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl is packaged in a hinged-lid tin. The tobacco is wrapped in unusual purple glitter paper. Even the adhesive seal is adorned with a mermaid emblem. The light and medium brown flakes are interspersed with lighter speckles. They emanate a perfume-like scent of sweet berries. While the flakes appear elastic, they are rather crumbly. They are not too moist, making them ideal for pipe use.
Plugging:
The crumbly texture of the Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl flakes makes them difficult to plug using the conventional method of "bend and fold it". However, the flakes can easily be crushed into a ready-rubbed mixture or formed into loose balls and placed in the pipe. Packing them not too tightly to allow the compressed tobacco room to expand, and with a few loose crumbs on top to catch the flame, is the best way to plug.
Light up:
Despite careful preparation, the Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl may require several flames to generate a glow. You should level the surface with the tamper and then light it evenly.
Smoking properties:
Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl is smoky and spicy, yet accompanied by a berry sweetness. A light perfume note, as already detected in the cold smell, is also present in the smoke. This is somewhat reminiscent of the typical aroma of Irish blends, but not overly so. All of this is unusual for oriental tobaccos, but it accompanies the smoking process in an interesting way. While it may be necessary to give fire again, the Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl offers a slow and cool burn. Light, fine ash and hardly any condensation in the pipe make cleaning uncomplicated.
Redolency:
Although Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl is made from oriental tobaccos, the resulting smoke is relatively pleasant. The added aroma adds a welcome boost. Of course, you should still be considerate of non-smoking companions.
Conclusion:
Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl presents itself elegantly in a black hinged-lid tin, wrapped in purple paper. The rather light flakes don´t reveal the oriental tobacco, nor do the sweet aroma or flavor. Indeed, neither the tobacco nor the flavoring are overly present. Spicy and smoky aromas blend harmoniously with berry sweetness and a hint of Irish perfume. There's something for everyone here, without the tobacco coming across as overly generic. Given a little experience, the smoking process is cool and leisurely, making Pesse Canoe Purple Pearl a good choice for a relaxed puff.
