Manufacturer Description:
Amphora Full is a blend of Ready Rubbed and loose tobacco slices. Noble Virginia tobaccos from three continents are mixed with Burley from Africa and the Far East and finally refined with Empire Cavendish from South American cultivation areas. Very subtly aromatized with a touch of floral notes and vanilla.
This popular Dutch blend from Kentucky, Oriental and Virginia tobaccos with the finest Burley offers balanced taste and full-bodied flavor with a slightly fruity note, accompanied by a touch of vanilla. It is easy to smoke and has a very pleasant redolency. A light tobacco flavor is paired with a little sweetness. The flavor does not kill tobacco, but only accompanies it. A good choice for smokers who do not like flavor overkill. Its excellent burn-off properties and the super fine gray-white ash also predestine it to use in new pipes.
Characterisation:
The Amphora Full is packaged in a pouch and should be filled into a airtight container, if you want to store the tobacco longer. Since the tobacco predominantly consists of Ready Rubbed, the initial moisture is however quite optimally. Amphora Full is of medium brown color with bright proportions and few dark fibers in between. The fragrance of Amphora Full is the smell of good Virginias for dried fruits and hay, the aromatization with vanilla, is judged by the smell, discreet and the used Oriental is not to sniff.
Plugging:
The Amphora Full has a somewhat coarse structure, which is why it is best to form loose balls and fill the pipe as loose. Some single tobacco crumbs facilitate the light up, because the flame finds fuel quickly.
Light up:
Like the plugging, the ignition of the Amphora Full should be done carefully. After the first flame, gently use the Tamper and give fire again evenly.
Smoking properties:
The Amphora Full is a flavored tobacco, but as promised by the manufacturer, the tobacco is tobacco genuine and even powerful. An impression which is strengthened by the tart heaviness, to this adds spicy and smoky aromas, as well as a roasted note and a light sweetness, which can be explained by the aroma used. A fruit or vanilla flavor as the manufacturer has probably used, however, is not to be tasted clearly. In the pipe remains fine light gray ash and few unburnt crumbs and hardly condensation.
Redolency:
The smell in the room of the Amphora Full is, in spite of the contained Orient, sweetish and reminiscent of "typical pipe-smoke", which is why it should not be considered disturbing even in non-smoking society.
Conclusion:
The Amphora Full is a predominantly medium brown Ready Rubbed with the typical smell of Virginia tobaccos after sweet hay and dried fruits. While the plugging and ignition is somewhat more complex due to the coarser structure, smoking is conceivably simple. If you are expecting an aromatics, however - as the manufacturer already announced – wsill be disappointed: the Amphora Full acts like a natural tobacco. At all events its light sweetness could be attributed to the aroma used. Apart from that, the tart, heavy smoke and the spicy roasted notes are like components of a pleasantly powerful tobacco, which is not boreing by the range of natural aromas to be tasted, so that an added flavor is not missed.
