The Oriental Amber (Spice)
English
Light to medium
Virginia, Oriental, Latakia
Ready rubbed flake
Manufacturer Description: If you fancy a spicy taste and want to deeply enjoy this experience right to the end, the The Oriental Spice is your tobacco of choice. The finest Orient and Virginia origins are carefully fermented in the press. A dash of latakia (sorry, we can´t disclose the dose here) adds to the incredible richness of this blend. The master craftsman examines each cake after taking it out of the press, before the flake is put to rest for several months until it reaches its final maturation. It´s a long time spent for a product that´s meant to be burned. The result is a mild Ready Rubbed with the dense aroma of a classical spicy breeding line. Our British answer to Danish tobaccos.
Characterisation: The The Oriental Spice is a medium brown ready rubbed flake which smells mainly of fresh Virginia. Although no flavor is specified for this tobacco, it smells very subtle fruity, actually slightly as orange. From the mixture, you can not recognize Oriental and Latakia. The The Oriental Spice is rather fine with optimum humidity.
Plugging: The The Oriental Spice is simple to stuff like a Mixture. It is recommended to turn small portions between the fingers to loose balls and stuff them not too tightly but carefully into the bowl. The tobacco expands when lighting noticeable!
Light up: The The Oriental Spice could be light up well with 2 to 3 flames. At the first light up the tobacco swells slightly. After a light pressing down with the tamper and re-lighting the tobacco glows evenly. Possibly a third flame is needed to light up the edges again.
Smoking properties: After light up the The Oriental Spice develop a fine taste of fresh Virginia and again a hint of fruity flavor. The taste is discreet spicy and the Oriental is noticeable, but keeps clear in the background. Latakia is to taste after some time, but also only subtly. The fine composition of the considered individually rather distinctive tobaccos comes together in a fresh, spicy-fruity flavor. The The Oriental Spice, however, is very capricious in relation to the temperature. It is important to ensure that the tobacco is smoked not too hot because it burns fiercely on the tongue otherwise. The burn is rather slow with little condensate development. The strength is light to medium so that the The Oriental Spice can be smoked at any occasion. The remaining ash is medium gray.
Redolency: The redolence of the The Oriental Spice is pleasantly subtle fruity. Interestingly it reminds of apricot. Oriental and Latakia are not clearly identifiable in the redolence. Therefore the The Oriental Spice should be welcome at all occasions, where smoking is allowed.
Conclusion: The The Oriental Spice is a medium brown, rather fine ready rubbed flake with a subtle scent of orange and fresh Virginia. The spicy tobaccos are not apparent in their typical type. The handling of the tobacco is easy, but having to be absolutely sure that it isn’t smoked too hot, because the tobacco otherwise violently burns on the tongue. The taste is a fine, subtle composition otherwise rather distinctive tobaccos. The redolence is also pleasantly understated, the fruity component reminiscent of apricot, the typical scents of spicy tobaccos are not remarkable in the redolence. The tobacco glows slowly with little condensate development to a medium-gray ash. The The Oriental Spice is light to medium and if you pay attention to the temperature it’s recommended to both experienced and novice smokers, because you can enjoy these tobacco good at any time of the day and any occasion.
